I have a problem involving my 2008 Rogue with 33,000 miles (and about 4 months out of warranty). A year ago Nissan agreed to install a new transmission in it because I was having issues with the first one. I was driving it on the highway last week and went to adjust the passenger outside mirror. As soon as I hit the switch I lost all power steering and the red PS light came on. I drove it home let it sit for 20 minutes and restarted it and the power steering was working again. Took it to the local dealer where its been for 3 days and they determined it needed a new steering column due to the fact that the torque angle sensor is defective. Does this make sense? I asked if a new sensor could be ordered but they said no, the entire steering column had to be replaced costing about $1000.00. Thanks so much.
