08 Rogue adding accent lighting need wiring

I am going to add LED light strips under the dash just below the steering wheel and need to know how to tap in the interior light wiring. I want he LED's to come on when you open the front doors but I don't know the best way to tap into the wiring for an 08 SL with moonroof no leather.

Hmm. Why don't you connect it to dome light? You can run the wire under the left white dash next to windshield but make sure to disconnect the battery because there's air bag under it. When dome light goes on your lights goes on. I connected mine do glove box so when I turn parking lights they go on...also I can control brightness throw dimmer on dash board.

If there's a fuse for the interior lighting (I can't recall off the top of my head) you can use an Add-a-circuit.

Thanks to both tapping into the map light is one option, I did see the new door sills with lights and was hoping there is some wires I can tap into in the dash area. When I did my Homelink I tapped into the moonroof with no problems.

So I am bring back this thread, I want to add foot board LED strip lighting and wanted the lighting to work with the door lights so I was going to tap in the dome lights you know where you can put your sun glasses. So I took apart the overhead dome light and come to find out that those lights don’t have a traditional wiring, these lights uses a very thin strip light kind of like the inside of a computer how you hook up a hard drive wire (if you know what I mean) so does anyone have any suggestions on how to wire for LED strip lights?
