My Titan has over 170,000 miles on it...highway, city, heavy hauling. Still runs fine, but my neighbor wrecked his 08 QX56 (with only 15,000 miles). His insurance says he can keep the car (he'll have to pay a fee, which will be passed on to me).I'm hoping these two engines and trans are the same, and it'll just be a direct swap...very thankful for any help or info.

Thanks

not too familiar with the Titan or the QX56 but they both use the VK56 motor and they should have the same transmission, I don't see why Nissan would build a different transmission between the two vehicles.

They are likely to be on the same platform as well but I don't know for certain and I believe that some of the accessories may be mounted or located in different places, so 90% of it should work but definitely retain your original mounting brackets and such and see if you can adapt the QX56 layout to your Titan.

thanks for the reply and the info, riu. I'm going to look the qx over and see what the connectors look like. I'm really hoping this is just a simple "plug and play" swap...not a big fan of re-wiring!

thanks again

Not a lot of info here on the 56's. I would try a titan/armada specific forum but I'm fairly certain this should be the same engine and trans provided they are both the same drivetrain. (2wd or 4wd) Nissan doesn't make design changes between platforms except for the ones riu mentioned. That's the beauty of Nissans.

worst case scenario, strip it down to block and transfer all the accessories from the titan to the qx and use the titan's exhaust and intake manifolds.
