My Titan has over 170,000 miles on it...highway, city, heavy hauling. Still runs fine, but my neighbor wrecked his 08 QX56 (with only 15,000 miles). His insurance says he can keep the car (he'll have to pay a fee, which will be passed on to me).I'm hoping these two engines and trans are the same, and it'll just be a direct swap...very thankful for any help or info.

Thanks

Engine and transmission are identical. There may, however, have been some minor changes to electronics in the intervening years. In those cases, you'll probably be fine if you just use the electronics from your Titan. You'll need to stick with the ECU from your Titan anyway, as it's set up for the specific options your Titan is equipped with.

For reference, in case it's helpful, the engine is VK56DE and transmission model number is RE5R05A.

Does the QX have front-end damage? I've always thought if I had a Titan, I'd put a QX56 front end on it. I love the QX's fascia.

very sadly, yes, the front end is damaged. He rear-ended someone, and then got rear-ended by the guy behind him.

Thanks for the reply and the info - I'm going to look it over today. If the electrical connections are the same, I'm going to do it. The real same is the seats...the Qx has heated powers seats with lower lumbar inflators..I'm just not up to the challenge of wiring them in!

THanks again!
