I purchased an 08' Nissan Altima for my wife a few months ago. The dealer stated "New Brakes, New Tires".
Although I can obviously tell the tires are new, and the brakes feel good...about a week later my wife asked about the steering wheel shaking when slowing down. I felt of the Rotors, they are Smooth on both sides, so I am assuming they are warped and need turned??

Would the dealer (Ford Lot) put new pads on without turning the rotors??

I took the wheel off and indeed the pads are very thick on both sides (appear new)

Can I just turn the rotors without changing the pads??

Thanks in advance for your feedback!!

You could get them turned, but I would replace with aftermarket rotors. The OEM rotors are known to warp easily, and if you need to turn them now, you're going to need to turn them again in the future.

Is there such thing as a rotor that will not warp?? I have been turning rotors on every vehicle I have ever had. I usually just buy the free replacement lifetime brakes at Autozone!!

the dealership I bought my A/C(3.5) from said the exact same thing. Few weeks later, they started squealing. Then slight brake pulsation... So I ended up swapping them all with some powerslot rotors and HPS Pads.

2 of my calliper slider-pins were seized =/ but they've been fine ever since.

I'm not a professional, but I think any hot rotor when cooled down quickly will begin to warp

If the steering wheel was shaking during braking the front brake components are the culprit, if the pedal pulsates it would be the rear. The front rotors sound like they might be warped.

Yeah I would upgrade pads and rotors.

Although i installed my hawk HP Plus pads, im wondering if that was a big mistake... They screetch like crazy when braking lol. Im considering EBC green stuff just for the reason that they are performance brakes but no noise.
