I have been really looking at the Z for a while now & like the look & options on the Nismo 350Z, but I have also seen sneak peaks at the new Z & like that also. The only thing I don't like is the wing.

Would you buy the current 350Z or wait for the 09-10 370Z to come out? I am hearing the next Z is lighter, more powerful and has a shorter wheel base.

I think the wheelbase remains the same but the overhang and total length is reduced, the 07-08's seem to be getting sheaper, my local dealer has a new nismo priced at 34K which is about 4k under sticker, when the 09's come out they will likely not sell for under sticker for most of the first year, really depends on you're financial situation and intended use for the car, after all it is a depreciating asset, whatever you buy it'll imediatly go down in value

i would wait on the 370 personally. If you are patient enough, or you could try to find a dirt cheap 03-04 and ride that sucker for a bit then trade it in on the 370 when they come out...

Other than that i agree with evildky.

I would still need ~$70k for one and it can't climb rocks.

Do you think the 370Z will have paddle shifters? That is the only way I would opt for an automatic transmission

It'll have paddles for sure. They seem popular with 'Sport Wannabe' people.

I'd wait for a spy shot of the 370Z. If the thing is completely fugly, you can get a 2009 350Z. It can only get better.

These are what I have seen of the next Z

I like the 2nd & 3rd much more than the 1st. But I would bet it is the 1st one that will be produced.

Out of all the stuff I have seen on the 370Z it looks like the first one. I like the rear of that second one though. I do love the headlights of that first one though.IMO I would go ahead and get the 08-09 Nismo.

A question for those that drive their Zs everyday: How reliable are they. I know Nissan has great build quality, but sports cars tend to not have as reliable of an engine as their detuned siblings. I would be driving this ~10k miles per year.

The only problems I had on my Xterra with ~80k was 2 o2 sensors fail in the 1st 3 months and an alternator fail at ~50k miles. Other things have failed, but they are not Nissans fault. Things tend to break 4x4ing. And on the Versa with ~25k, that stupid TPMS has never worked, but nothing a sharpie over the indicator light wouldn't fix.

I did go test drive a 350 GT & loved it. They had a white Nismo in the showroom, but I didn't make them take it out since I wasn't going to buy for a few more months..
