08 maxima rpm fluctuates

I have an 08 Maxima with 183k miles on her. Recently she decided while on the highway going up hills the RPMS will fluctuate around 500 to 700 rpms which this never happened before it's always been consistent. But on straight aways she drives fine. After a while it seems likes it goes into safe mode as if the transmission is hot but I'm not getting any warning lights on the dash. The transmission fluid doesn't smell or look burnt. Anyone else experience this? My car still pull strong when I ask her to get get up and move she does like nothing's wrong so I'm a bit confused plz help

Can you get a scanner put on there and pull some codes?
