Has anyone with an 08 maxima ever done an HID conversion? If so, what size kit did you get, 9005 or 9006? Ive been reading around and i keep finding different answers so i would like to get some advice from someone in the same boat.

Thats what i ordered based on this and other forums. But then i checked the Sylvania site and the manual and it says 9005. I swear i read somewhere the 08 used the 9012 bulbs and thats why people said the 9006 kit will work.

On the SE its optional but i believe on the SL it is standard. I am just trying to figure out if i have to return my kit or can i make it work.

Yeah its optional my wifes car had the hid and mine didnt. Very interesting I just looked at 2007 and 2008. 2008 is indeed the 9005 for low/high beams.

The 9006 kit is the one you need.

They all come with projectors but SL's have HID OEM and with SE's you need to get DPP package to add HID's. But do keep in mind that the projectors are different. You get a decent cutoff putting a HID kit in the halogen projectors but the light output is bad compared to a real HID projector. I've heard the argument both ways where it A) makes a huge difference and B) you can barely notice the difference. I have not compared both in person but it's something to keep in mind...

You should also keep in mind that just putting an HID "kit" into halogen housings is illegal. The proper way to do it is a retrofit.
