Gents,
What can i put in my m35s with navigation that has ipod charging capabilities. I had a pa15-infi and worked great but after reading the requirements it says i can use it because i have navigation system.

I thought the 08 came with the integrated iPod connector or did that start in 09?

Not sure about the years...but mines an 07 with Navi and I have a PA15-NIS which works great. PA15-NIS is for non-XM module equipped cars, PA15-INFI for XM cars. My car is CAPABLE of XM, but doesn't have the module in the trunk. I wrote the 'guide' on the USA Spec unit.

08 def has iPod integration....if you have the iphone/iPod with lightning cord you need an adapter(30 pin to lightning) so it can play and charge...I actually use an old iPod touch 3G and still needed a new adapter to charge it while playing. Do you have the infiniti iPod cord?? It's in the console....thats what you need for starters

Depends on your car. You have to have a XM ready stereo and XM unit in the trunk to use the PA15-INFI. If you don't the unit, but have a radio that has the "CAT" button on it, then you can use the PA15-NIS.

08+ with nav you are basically hosed. there is no external port to plug in any of the aftermarket devices that normally connect to the satellite receiver port. the satellite receiver is built into the head unit on the 08+ with nav. your options are basically bluetooth receiver plugged into the aux-in or an fm modulator.

I'm confused. Is your car a 2007 or 2008? Your user info says 2007, thread says 2008.

This thread is confusing me, but at the end of the day the 08 with nav (maybe without as well) has iPod/phone (the wide plug) integration in the center console with a special adapter that plays and charges. And I'm sure there is an adapter to convert the old plug to the new one somewhere.

i had on 07 got an 08 with nav! not looking for the plug i have that already. The issue is charging the ipod, its becoming a hassle. Thats why i was asking if the PA-INFI will work? and it seems it doesn't according to some members on here.

According to USA Spec, there is no item available for 2008 M's.

I think I bought that as well. It does work, if I remember correctly (I can't believe it's been so long since I used the iPod that I totally forgot about all of this stuff).

yes... if you are trying to charge a newer ipod that's what you need. what ipod do you have? i bought an ipod touch 2g and it won't work. i looked at the owner's manual and list of acceptable ipods is pretty small and they are all old ones.

The following models are available:
● Third generation iPod (Firmware version 2.3 or later) (Audiobook and Podcast are not
available)
● Fourth generation iPod (Firmware version 3.1.1 or later)
● Fifth generation iPod (Firmware version 1.1.2 or later)
● iPod mini (Firmware version 1.41 or later)
● iPod photo (Firmware version 1.2.1 or later)
● iPod nano (Firmware version 1.2 or later)

sorry to thread hijack but I've been reading about the pa15-infi like crazy and trying to decide if I should buy one but can someone please explain to me why this is useful? It looks like all this does is play and charge and ipod which you can do with the aux and charger in the car... doesn't this require you to keep your ipod locked in the trunk? sorry if I'm wrong but I don't understand the usefulness of this device.

Please watch my review video of the PA15-NIS...which is basically the same unit except one is made for cars that have the XM unit in the trunk (the cable goes to your interior for the PA15-INFI) and one is made for cars that are XM-ready (mine) but don't actually have the trunk unit (PA15-NIS applies here).

You have the same car as me. So no, INFI will not work. You need the NIS unit. IF your radio (like mine) has a CAT button near the presets. USA Spec says if you see "CAT" anywhere on the radio, you're all set.

I do not have the satellite unit and I have factory navigation. I have the PA15-NIS (as seen in the video).

When i mess with the cord it go still makes the noise but not to much. Kinda sounds when something is not grounded that "buzzing" sound. Any options besides taking it off when i want to hear music? Same thing with my bootleg audio cords i bought when i connect the ipod to it.. WHY whyWHyWhy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
