08 m tail light conversion

Hi guys..just would like to know how hard it would be to do a 08 tail light conversion on our m and $ cost . looked online but did not find any one that has done the conversion

The simple answer is: you can't. Too much of the rear is different.

Even a good body shop can't do it?. I know the rear quarter panels are different and the trunk light section .

If the bumper can be added I'm sure the tail lights can be too. It won't be cheap I can tell you that.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. If I find a good deal on some tail lights I will attempt it. Talked to a friend of mine who dose body work..and he said it was possible but not cheap lol.

06-07 taillights look too fat. im playing with some matched vinyl to cover some of it up possibly.

Sure it can be done. But custom body work isn't cheap...

Wouldnt that money be better spent on a body kit or a performance upgrade? Id image it would be VERY pricey to do this and doesnt really give much benefit in the end. The 08-09 taillights are only slightly shorter than the 06-07

Or buy an 08 and put an 06 bumper on it.....?

As for the body kit..I already bought and installed the aero kit. My body guy said it would be $1000+the tail lights for the install.
I think its a lot cheaper then buying an 08 lol.

Hey guys i have looking around for a aero kit that came with the sport modle for my 06 m45 but i have been told its discontinue any body know where i can get one from. alen619 may be you can help me out?

I got my kit about a year and a half ago....I found out that they were discontinued about 6 months ago when someone backed in to me. I'm not sure, but try Ebay like bbs said. Good luck.

Reminds me of old days putting a black electrical tape over check engine light to pass inspection
but as long as your happy with it ...
