Hey guys I'm new to this site but I've looked around a lot. I'm not that smart with cars either. I have a few questions about the car before getting it. I tried searching it everywhere but can't find some answers:

1)I test drove 08 G37. It has about 30 more HP and 10 more torque. Why do I see so many people say G35x sedan is faster than the G37? They answered because G35x is a bit lighter.

2) Why do I feel so much faster in the G37 ( like kick back and stuff ) How can I achieve this in the G35?

3) (run on off 2nd question) Are there any aftermarket/infiniti stuff that can give me more HP and WHP and torque and not void my warranties? Also I love the exhaust sounds of G37 please help tell me I can make my G35x sound like that. If so link please?

4) Would cold air intake add alot of HP? Would turbo be the way to get most HP? Can the car hold up that much extra power and torque?

Thanks in advance.

I really dont know whether the G37 is faster then the G35x.. IMO i would say that the g35x is faster because its an AWD car, it is true that the G37 has 30 more HP but keep in mind its also a heavy car, the lighter the car the better. Maybe someone in here will come in, but the G37 might be a lil heavier, dont know for sure tho.

Almost every single aftermarket part will void your warranty unless its easily removable when you take your car to get serviced.

A cold intake would only in reality maybe add anywhere from 5 to 10hp at the best.

Turbo would be the way to go if you have the cash for it, the car could hold up that much power as long as the have the right parts to hold that much power.

Someone will come in here shortly and get in more detail w/ you, I am still kinda in the learning process as well, but im gettin better haha

BTW: WELCOME TO NICO!

I think it is up to you. You have to pick one they are not the same. You have to consider some options. Do you need the backseat room or not? Do you care about winter driving or not? Do you need more trank space or not? Are you willing to pay extra for the 37? Most likelly you'll pay more on insurance also if you have a 2 door. I am not sure tho.

The sound of the 37 and the previous 35 are pretty unique. Hard to find an exhaust to reproduce it.

If you consern about the speed that much maybe you should be checking out other cars also. Our G is pretty decent on speed but not a rocket.

You can get a supercharger soon for the 07 sedan. I beleive so. I've seen the proto.

These are just some basic questions. They will make your decision easier.

I've decided to get a G35X. More practical car since I live in the North. I guess the G35X exhuast is not a true dual exhaust and the G37 is with catback exhaust. So cant I just buy something that wont combine two pipes into one ( Y pipe) and back to two mufflers? Or do I have to buy a whole catback exhaust?

I heard spacers are easy and cheap things you can do for more hp and torque is this true? What else can I do to add a few more whp and torque besides a turbo or supercharger? I heard cold air intakes work but its already sucking in cold air according to the salesmen and adding a aftermarket stillen intake would suck in hot air. If cold air intake is the way to go I've heard of many water issues with these? Enlighten me please!

do not listen to car salesmen thats your first mistake, they are not liable for anything they tell you anything that is not on paper doesnt mean a thing. thats the first rule. you would be suprised most people who sell cars know very little about them.

I wouldnt go for CAI, just because you would have to put a sock over the filter and the stock system isnt really set up that way anyways...I would go with stillen, whatever air it gets, it is going to be less restricted..? and thats what the shield is for to block away most of the hot air to suck air from the bottom...

and no aftermarket parts do not void your warranty unless they can be proven to be the cause of whatever issue you are having.. i have had a engine swapped out before and I had a CAI they gave me grief but push comes to shove if they cannot prove it is the cause they cannot do anything about it.. but on a side note.. my engine didnt have any issues its the stupid servie mgr who ignored me when I told him it was the intake manifold.. which turns out to be the case anyways.. and was eventually changed.....

always do your own research you cannot depend on anyone expect yourself.. sometimes people on forums can give you good info, in the end use your own judgement.

Well this salesman was pretty young and just got out of college. Apparently he really likes modding cars and have done it for years.
