This has been happening intermittently for the last four or five months, and a little extra touch on the gas pedal would often get it going. Unfortunately this weekend it did the same thing and wouldn't restart no matter what the pedal setting was...light touch, fully depressed, pressed and released, and even waiting hours between attempts. The dealership has it now and they say, ummm...throttle bodies both need replaced, and to the tune of $800(!) each.

AutoZone has this http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/ ... 73_0_5196_ for much less, and I'm certain I could replace them myself, but would I need to take the car back to the dealership to reset/relearn anything? A link to any previous article would be helpful, as my search so far hasn't yielded an answer to this question. Thanks for the help. :mike

Hmmm...After balking at the $2000 price tag, the dealership called back a couple hours later and told me "they tapped a little on the throttle bodies and it started right up again...running ok for now". I'd love to think somebody had a brainstorm, or remembered a similar case from before they were able to do the same thing. Right now it seems the problem is "gone".

Probably connectors loose? No errors were being thrown is the funny thing.

That is weird...wonder if they reset the throttle bodies.

Really wondered the same thing myself, but I was happy to get out of there for $129 :) Plus they washed the car, cleaned the inside windows, and put armorall on the tires...so from a non-running car to a nice, clean, and running car, I think we did pretty well :wavey:

I'm having a similar issue with my 08 G35s, seems for a few months my car will stall once or twice a month when I slow down but don't completely stop (like when I'm approaching a turn) RPM suddenly drops to about 500 and stalls out!!! Scary when I'm in traffic or pulling out of a driveway INTO traffic!!! I quickly shift to neutral, slightly tap the brake pedal and push the start button and I'm back in business!!! :dblthumb:

This week I changed out my battery since it died with the cold weather we had across the country...(and battery was over 5 years old). Now my car is stalling every time I hit the road... Could it be loose battery terminals/ cables (I've read about the loose battery cables possibly causing problems but haven't checked them yet) or throttle bodies maybe need cleaning?? :gotme

Need help as this problems just got worse this week!!!

Update:

So I got my tools out and took a look at the loose battery terminals and sure enough they were extremely loose!! I got under there and tightened it real good and now idle stays up at around 650 now, has not cut off in two days... And everything is working great!!
