08 G35 Audio Issues for iPhone4

When the car was originally purchased my iPhone4S's audio worked through the cable(not sure whats it called) that plugged directly into my iPhone4S's 'charging port'. Said cables output is right above the composite cables in the arm rest center unit. The phone never charged but it worked for audio to car speakers.

I lost my iPhone4S and now have an iPhone4....for some reason I get no audio through the same chord now? Super frustrating. Still doesn't charge also. Now the indication on the home screen is, 'no song selected,' or something similar.

Anyone have a cheap and easy fix here...maybe through bluetooth? The device below looked like it would work but because my phone wouldn't charge, I doubt this device would. Thanks in advanced.

Not sure if it will work...I don't think you can stream, but I could be wrong. Check the Infiniti DB for you phones' features:

I assume you have the base system and not Nav or Premium? If Nav or Premium it should sync up with the system and not need a cable.

Yes - I have basic audio, no nav. Bluetooth for making calls works fine and I have the chord that plugs into the iPhone. It's just not recognizing audio for some reason.

Weird. I'm not going to be much help as I have simply connected a ipod to my system and don't do any streaming at all. The '07 sedan has Nav so we have simply copied CD's into musicbox.

Only the 2010 models and up can stream through Bluetooth.
I would hook another apple product to the connector and see if that would work. Also, sometimes a firmware update can fix the problem. Also take the iphone 4 out of any case and hook up the cable. Sometimes the cases can keep a proper connection.
