I just picked up my 08 G35X Sport which I'll post pics of soon ;-) Loving the diamond graphite on black combo! What a beauty.

Anyway, I traded my A4 in for this car mostly for rear seat room as I tote two kids to daycare every day, and ran out of room for the kids in the back,

Despite googling for days, I never really found a lot of posts from guys saying they carry kids in their G35's so I thought I'd post.

My car seats are not small (big bases) and fit ok in the back, and both kids have decent legroom with me in my preferred seating position. I'm 6'4 and all legs, but the seat isn't all the way back, probably a few inches from being so.

So far, I think its a good kid hauler, though the seat belt recepticles are in a tricky spot for big based car seats and the back harnass apparently has to go over the leather headrest in the back which I don't quite like. However, things fit, and I get to drive a great car ;-)

Best,

Pete

Welcome to the Forum. Goad you chose the G, and you will be too. The back seat room isn't as roomy as you would like if you were forced to ride back there, but I don't see any problems for 2 kids. I have had two adults in the back for 1 hour trips and they didn't complain.

Only problem is, I can't get my wife out of it ;-)

She got an 07 MDX a month ago (we were due for a 2 car refresh) and always talked about liking the ride height of an SUV.

She didn't participate at all in the G35 shop, and until it came home, never cared about it. Once I pulled up in it, it was all over. I'm now driving an 07 MDX ;-)

(yes, I'm whipped, but she hasn't been this happy in ages ;-)

Hey petvan, welcome to NICO. I used to live in Oakville up until about a year ago. I now live in Vaughn. If you don't mind me asking, where did you purchase from, Oakville Nissan/Infiniti?

I have the 07 Sedan and share the exact same comments you made regarding the larger based car seats and the fact that the tether straps have to sit on the leather headrests. Normally we use the minivan (yep, broke down last year and replaced my Ford Exploder with a Freestar) but I do occassionally take wife and my two kids out in my G. Though I have to constantly tell my 3 year old daughter not to kick the back of the passenger seat.

Hey. Ya, I purchase from Oakville Infinity. They gave me a decent first price, and I was in a rush. I leased, and paid 10 security deposits in advance for a 2.4% lease rate. Came out ok. So far no complaints with the dealership, though I didn't meet many people in the process.

Tether over the headrest is concerning though. Going to have to find something to put under it as I'm worried about long term indents, or chaffing.

Good stuff. I've leased my last two cars from them and have no major complaints. If you go in for service, Danny or Frank will take good care of you. Try and stay away from the guy who runs the cafe though, I swear he has tourettes syndrome! Kind of weirded me out.

I'm with 'ya. I've tried to connect to the center seat belt connector, no-go. Have to use the connector for that belt. It's a pain. It was not designed with kids in mind that for sure. After 3 days with the car, that's the only 'con' I've found.
