New member here, so thanks in advance for your time. I'm sure there are threads concerning this issue though my searches haven't given me the results I need. My car is new to me and I have enjoyed it for a couple of months now. In the first couple of days I had to replace the brake switch due to a no start issue. The problem was easy to diagnose and repair with the help of some Google skills that seem to evade me today. Ready to leave work today I ran into what seemed to be the same issue. The catch is the brake lights actually work. Could the switch still be bad? All accessories come on, the car could not be jump started, I removed the battery and had it tested (it checked out fine), I tried starting with the fob in the I-key port all with no luck. I don't think it's the dreaded steering column lock because other posts/videos indicate there would be no activity on the start button or dash, like the car is dead except for the I-key detection. I feel like I'm going in circles between the 2 possibilities. I can easily pick up another switch and give that a try in the morning. The steering lock is a whole other thing I would obviously like to avoid replacing. I would greatly appreciate some advice so I don't waste too much time diagnosing the problem and deciding whether or not to get a tow and mechanic involved. Thanks again

Due to your car's year....it sounds like the ignition lock failed.
