08 bumper ?'s

Couple of questions for people who have already did the swap. So far I found a bumper for 200, primed already, and a grill with emblem for 175. Does anyone have a good source for getting the oem grill cheaper besides local craigslist/ebay? Lastly it seems like no one has found a solution for the splash guards around the fender wells, do you guys just leave them uninstalled or jerry rig them?

When I had that bumper on there, I bought the correct OEM fender liners from one of the online Infiniti dealers just because I knew myself and knew that the gaps on both sides would drive me nuts.

Outside of junkyards, eBay, and craigslist I don't know of any other sources.

Lastly why would you get this bumper when you have your body kit?!?!?

Thanks for the info. I'm looking for an 08 bumper bcuz a little bit of snow and guard rail got the best of my front bumper the other day. So instead of getting an oem 06/07 I'd rather get the 08. Wangtang if you search for used bumper that need work they start at 180 and run to 350 for new sport an non sport. That's without all the other bs parts involved.

you can not find one even near Atlanta right now. the dealer quoted me almost 2k for the bumper and all parts associated with the swap.

sorry to hear about your bumper, Mex... as far as the front grille, I got the midnight black from TunerzStore.... I know prices are going up on the 08 bumper since a lot of guys are doing the swap, so shops and dealers are aware

you can go to Infiniti Parts USA...they have good prices... bumper, fender liners, etc... I bought OEM 08 fender liners when I did the bumper swap....I know DEAN45 used a heat gun on his stock 06 fender liners after he did the 08 bumper swap...

as far as the lower grille and fog light housing area, I went custom and did steel mesh for the lower area....

I can get it repaired,Im thinking of going for something new though with a grill. Once I try a few more shops for quotes I will see which is more cost effective. So far one shop said they dont do this type of work ... not a good first impression IMO.

CPJ, can you post a close up of your fog light mesh and lower center mesh? Also do you know if the non sport would be able to use the same idea?

I don't get how it could be $2K. Maybe if new?? I got an 08 bumper that needed work and paint. Used my 06 grill (slight mod to the bumper), picked up the foglight grills and then a T-Rex stylel for the center lower gill. Used a heat gun to slightly reshape the fender liners. I'm into it for about $230 and my time. Brackets and mounting points are all the same. Not hard at all. new-headlight-idea-grill-mod-and-ink-pens-t578064.html
