Hello,

I bought this hitch http://www.authorizednissanpar...eID=3 but it doesn't fit (the lower step pad is in the way). It looks like this hitch is for previous model years. Does any one know the correct way to install this hitch? or where to buy the correct one?

Thank you.

Welcome to NICOclub! Greetings from the Armada/QX56 Forum!

Yeah, it looks like you have the hitch that fits '04-'07 Armada models. You need this one:

If you have an SE model you need the wiring harness as well. You can buy it there as well. Hope this helps!

Thanks Timmbo. This is a great forum.

From the image it looks very similar to the hitch that I got. Actually from all the web searches and even Nissan's own accessories web site all the hitches looks exactly like the one that I got (same as the one on page EXT-14 of service manual and I don't know how they actually put it on '08 Armada). I knew if it looks like that it would not fit my '08 Armada. I took a chance and it confirmed my suspicion. What I am really curious is that I'm seem like the first person that want a hitch for '08 Armada (that doesn't come with the towing package). Grubbs' Nissan said that the hitch that I got is indeed is for '08 Armada!

Maybe Grubbs doesn't realize there are two different ones, maybe someone had it labeled wrong, who knows. I know all the LE models and a ton of SE models come with the hitch, I know every Armada I have ever seen in WI had the hitch on it, maybe they put more on at the factory on 4x4 models instead of 4x2. Who knows. Glad I could help, Courtesy is awesome to work with, and they are fast also!

Timmbo,

Do you know what the wiring harness is for?

Thanks.

No, I am not sure, but I would trust that if Courtesy says it is required, then I am sure you need it.

My '08 SE did not come with a hitch or harness, both of which I installed myself. The '08 came pre-wired, but without the harness so install was a piece-of-cake. A couple of zip ties to secure the harness and you are set. FYI, I installed a Valley hidden hitch.

Good luck with your project.
