Altima will start but wont go in any gear...scanned for code and it says turbine revolution sensor. Bought the part but nobody can seem to find where its located.

transmission input shaft speed sensor - should be on transmission near the far left driver side - look there for same part as you bought.

Ok so we tested the revolution sensor and it tested that it was good, and we noticed another sensor toward the front of the transmission and so we decided to test that one. Well the magnetic end of the sensor was damaged....like it was hit or possibly melted...we took it to Auto Zone and they informed us that its a Transmission Output Sensor and we paid 140 bucks to order a new one... any ideas as to what could have caused the damage....or if anyone thinks that replacing this sensor will even fix my original problems of my car not moving in any gear
...??
