08 Altima failure to start/service engine light

I have an 08 Altima rental car, and after filling tank, car would not start even though dash lights came on, as did service engine light. Tried to start it repeatedly. Left it for about five minutes, came back, and it started. Anybody know what is cooking. Will it fail while underway? Thanks
