I've had my coupe for a week now and I love everything about it. I live in Virginia Beach, VA and there are 4 dealers in the local area. As of last week they had NONE on the lot. As soon as the dealer gets one on the lot its sold. 2 weeks ago the dealer called me up and said that he had one on the truck and he wanted me to come up and look at it. It was a dark slate 3.5 w/o premium. I passed on the car, but not 15 min after I walked away someone bought the car. My advice, order your car the way you want it. Don't settle for a car just because one is at the dealer. I 100% believe in getting what you want if your making the payment.

What are you guys paying relative to MSRP? I'm sure they're charging list at least.

I'm glad I got mine, 5 weeks ago, now that the commercials are on TV and people are starting to see them the demand has gone way up, the people who first got them are the ones that knew they were coming out beforehand, I' had been waiting since Nov. 2006. The Altima Coupe should take the title of this year's (or 2008) most wanted car.

The demand is definitely off the roof. I've been looking for a 2.5 with convenience package and dealerships are marking it up to $7k. Most dealerships are getting 2-4 cars a month too so thats not helping.

Don't listen to these dealers. They don't want to trade or buy a car from another dealer cause that will cost more money. Go to each dealer's website and check their inventory. I am in the Atlanta, Ga area and each Nissan dealer had at least 2 coupes on their lot. One had 5 coupes on their lot. My only problem with them was that they would not go below sticker. I had to go to Athens, GA to get mine at invoice or near it. I got it at 24K and some change out the door(including tax,tag and fees) Blue 2.5S CVT, conveyance package, moon roof, moon roof deflector, kick plates, and mats.

^^^^ You got a good deal for $24k, I'm looking for the exact same car here too and even willing to pay sticker price but no-one would budge. I wish that was possible here in CA but people actually pay the mark-up price so of course the dealership would rather sell it for the higher price than sticker.

Have you checked all the nissan dealers in say a 100 mile radius? Like I said before don't ask the dealer to look for you. Do the search yourself. I had one dealer tell me there are no coupes in your color in the area. That same day I went to http://www.nissanusa.com and looked at the inventory of every dealership within a 100 mile radius.

Check the local dealerships. I think Miller Nissan is closest to your location (Panorama City). If you spend hours and hours negotiating, they may let it go for MSRP and can waive the markup. Factor in 10% tax.

Thanks for the help papawu and dragon.

I have checked their inventory online but it's not the most accurate thing. Superior Nissan in my area shows that they have 3 coupes but when I visited the dealership, they had none. No display or in the back. It was disappointing, they said they will get them at the end of this month.

I've been dealing mostly with Miller Nissan. They said their mark-up is $5k and it's negotiable but can't go anywhere near sticker. I contacted them both through e-mails and spoke to them in person and they just won't budge. I am currently talking to someone at Universal Nissan as well but they said they currently have no 2.5's on the lot even though Nissan.com says they have some in their inventory.

I sent for an "e-price" qoute from Santa Monica Nissan that you provided papawu and I'll see what I get. The problem though is, they don't show what option the car has, just the price. I'll be waiting for their response. Their price is $23,175 which I'm guessing has the convenience package but no moonroof. Hopefully they responsd soon.

Again thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.

edit: Checking the inventory online of the next 15 dealerships nearest me, I noticed that about half of them has no Altima Coupe in their inventory, which is weird since online it says the Universal Nissan has around 8 3.5's all Dark Slate.

There's one on the lot here in Bend, OR. Premium Gray 2.5S base model. The dealer put $3000 wheels on the thing and is trying to get the same price as the 2.5S with premium package.

(I drove 110 miles to get the color/package I wanted instead of taking their base model, and it seems I'm not the only one.)

No luck here in CA. So far, all have at least $5k mark up. One dealership even tried to sell me abone stock 2.5 CVT for $27,500. I even told them, I'm paying cash and would go drive the extra 35-40 miles if they give it to me for sticker or very close to sticker price. They said they'll take $500 off. I just told them they're crazy and to have good day. I think I might have to wait until the demand cools down a bit on this car.

Another offered me $30k for a 2.5 CVT with just the convenience package, not even with a moonroof or ttl. I didn't even bother dealing with that one.

I got mine on Friday night.

Super Black2.5 S with CVTMoonroof and DeflectorKick PlatesMatsSpoiler (added by dealership).

I got the car for $23,450 plus tax, tags, title, doc fee.

Sticker price was MSRP ($24,125) plus $450 for spoiler (total sticker $24,575). So, I ended up $1125 under sticker.

I had to drive about 35 miles to pick up car. But I negotiated everything with the internet sales guy and made it plain that I was not driving down there to get the car until we had everything locked up. Took several days of waiting him out, but he came down to my price.

I saw the one in Bend on vacation. The 18" wheels look nice and the perfect size....not 3K nice.

I would rather apply the 3K and get a premium 3.5 SE.

I didn't have an issues with negotiating a price with the dealer. I live in Virginia Beach, VA and I don't want to directly give a plug to the guy. But, if your in the area and your interested you should be able to figure out the BIG one here. LOL

But, anyway... I will give you a basic rundown of what I paid for my car.

Sticker price info - MSRP : 25,390.00moonroof deflector - 100.00Floor mats w/trunk mat - 175.00Premium package - 3200.00Destination charges - 625.00Total - 29,490.00

Selling price was: 29,300.90In addition too : Business Dealers Tax - 49.60Titling tax - 891.00License / Regitration - 59.50"processing fee" lol 399.00Total 30,700.00

I traded in my 2001 Mercury Cougar, V6 with 80,925 miles on the engine. It was also in a accident a few years ago too.

Bottom line,,,,I got my coupe for 25,700.00.
