Got my 08 Altima Coupe tinted to 20% front and back. The front and corner windows look perfect. However, the installer had trouble with the back window. About the middle of the glass (vertical) on the outer corners bubbles came up on both sides and he could not work them out. Let it dry a day or so and took it back and he tried to work them out, but with no luck. So I left the car for the day and he removed the tint and started over. Anyways he had the same problem, so he put vinyl strip along the outer edges (outside glass) around the car to hide this. I know I've seen shops do this with some cars because they are so troublesome, but I wanted to see if anyone else on this board knows of problems tinting the back glass because of curves and angles on the altima coupe?
The annoying part is I take my car to this shop because they are know for using quality materials and having top notch work. I've never had an issue with the tint shop until this car, so I want to ask everyone on her what the experience you have an how you car is tinted? Its just a brand new car and I want everything to be perfect. If the rear window really is a huge problem then I won't bother them, but if 8 out of 10 people on her have the rear glass tinted perfect w/ no vinyl on the outside and no problems with corner bubbles I'm going to complain and ask them to do it right or to remove the rear window tint and refund some money so I can go to a shop that will do it right.
Also they put a vinyl strip on the top, which my last car had as well. But I remember the last cars strip looking perfect the day it was put on (but that was 3-4 years ago so I could easily be forgetting). However, on this car I can see the water and some white areas where the dots are. Is this normal and will it go away on vinyl? I thought the point of the vinyl strip was to not have white air dot areas that tint would have. I know tint you gotta give it time, but not sure if vinyl is the same?
