08 Altima Coupe Rear Defroster Problem...

Ok.... Long Story short. My rear defroster button stopped lighting up when you press it. You can hear the relay click on and see the defroster working, but it doesn't light up. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the whole control unit. Still didn't fix it. They said they would have to look at all the wiring, but b/c I have an aftermarket stereo, they can't do it under warranty. I know that they replaced the unit, b/c the knobs were alot stiffer when I got it back. Any ideas please. It is driving me nuts not being able to know if it on or not. The A/C and Stereo are on completely different circuits I believe and I used connectors and didn't have to splice into anything. Plus I had the stereo in for about a year with the rear defroster working fine. Please Help!

it should be under waranty, the dealer is just trying to cover itself

was there anything in particular that you know of that made it stop or happened before it stoped?

I know. I called another Dealer and they don't think it is link and want to take a look at it, but if it was something simple I would rather do it myself. The dealer is over an hour away.

i would call your dealer first, ask to talk to the manager. i belive there is a rule or something that aftermarket parts which have no influence on another part cannon void the waranty, but im not sure. just explain your case and tell them that you do not believe you are being treated fairly.
