So we had a bit of snow yesterday and last night in MN. I was anxious to see how my 3.5se coupe handled. I have VDC, but I've heard some bad things about how this car handles in snow if you don't.

The verdict? MUCH better than my RSX was. I'd say that without VDC enabled, it's about the same or maybe a little worse just because it's heavier. But it's awesome to finally have traction control so that I don't just spin my wheels getting started, and the VDC really grabs the corners. Where I would normally just slide off the road if I didn't use the emergency break, I now can turn with no problems. You have to keep giving it some gas though, as the VDC is working by applying the brakes so you tend to lose a lot of speed.

So here it is last week:

And today:

Hey, that looks quite familiar I wish I could have had mine in the garage..

I agree, the handling in the snow is really nice with the VDC and ABS. I know everyone has been saying the tires are crap, but I'm happy with how it's going so far. It's strange to hit the gas from a stop, and have the RPMs step up sporadically as it gets traction, loses it, etc.

Unfortunately, I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunities this winter to get used to it.

Yeah, a garage is not a luxury I've ever had. The guy who owns the house puts his car in the garage, although I've thought about asking how much he'd want to raise my rent in exchange for the privilege.

Going from MD to Pougkeepsie NY tomorrow. I'll see how the stock Continentals handle the white stuff. What tires are on the coupe? (are they 16" or 17"?)

1) The tires suck!!2) VDC or not.. i dont notice much of a difference.

It snowed again last night and we got that nice packing snow/ice So i took the car out to a huge empty parking lot to drift it.. or more like.. test out the tires!

So im going, not used to the drive b/c 1) The slippage is 10000% more then i have ever felt ( Most likely due to the 270 ponies and the inability to properly control the clutch)

I turn the car while going approx 30 km/h in a snowy/ a little icy plot and the slip control goes off.. im sliding ..

Anyways.. the rest of the 5 minutes i was in the P-lot i was drifting around (with the e brake of course) .. I guess this is what winters going to be like with these crappy turanza's.

Anyone know how their rated for the summer time? I know ive been driving them all summer but, ive never felt better tires on this car.. i mguessing itll make a big diff?

Continentals can hold their own. I was actually at Poughkeepsie today while it was snowing. It wasn't bad. The roads should be much better over there tomorrow. Have fun going to Poughkeepsie

Good to hear 'cause we are in lake effect warning up here and expecting 7-12 today and more to come....never know with lake effect you can get 3 feet then go 10 miles west and they'll have 3 inches.
