Upset that your (less expensive) baby bro car kicked your car's a$s in a drag race?

I love my A/C don't get me wrong, and while the A/C is faster than the older model G35 sedans, it is NOT faster than an 08 G35 Sedan. The 08 G35 sedan has the VQ35Hr motor, tuned to 306 HP. And althought its slightly heaveier, it has better acceleration times and 1/4 mile times than the A/C 3.5

We don't know the situation with the cars, the G35 sedan could have had stuff in the trunk, scould have had a heavy sound system, etc. on a drag strip, a G35 Sedan with a halfway decent driver would own an A/C! It's just reality!

You don't agree it's pretty interesting that they paid 10k+ more and have slower cars? I think so.. I have a 2.5 so I've got nothing to be talking about but I still find it interesting. In my opinion though. And I know the G35 sedans are fast. Aren't they faster tahn the g37's or almost as fast? My friend has the g35S.. very very fast car.

We are all men here (well most of us) and we enjoy pissing contests like most

Now before we start pissing all over eachother, Robert has a point here. Thats a crude video of god knows what happened. Some more legitimacy with this would help settle anything.

Second the credit for taking it to a drag strip. That's where it really counts anyway.

Here are some times for Altimas VS. G's . Even these times don't tell much about the cars, the mileage on the cars, how tuned, etc.

Altima 3.5 14.210 101.300 Nissan Altima SE-R 2006 Al 14.210 101.230 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE Coupe 2008 NA 14.221 98.860 Nissan Altima SE-R 2005 Terry Fields 14.263 95.160 Nissan Altima 3.5 se 2003 justin walton 14.366 98.990 Nissan Altima SE-R 2005 Craig Baldwin 14.378 93.710 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE 2003 Brenden Jones 14.400 98.000 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE 2002 Fernando 14.411 100.080 Nissan Altima 3.5SE 2002 Stephane Asselin 14.448 97.080 Nissan Altima SE-R 2005 Adam West 14.580 94.000 Nissan Altima SE-R 2005 bob

Infiniti G35 13.651 103.790 Infiniti G35 S Sedan 5AT 2007 Ryan Stovall 13.700 102.000 Infiniti G35 G35 6MT Coupe 2005 James Amos 13.791 102.220 Infiniti G35 Sedan 6MT 2005 Trey 13.823 102.050 Infiniti G35 Sedan Sport 6MT 2008 Jeff 13.910 103.010 Infiniti G35 Sport 6MT Sedan 2007 NA 13.921 99.040 Infiniti G35 X 2007 Sarah Miller 13.940 102.000 Infiniti G35 6MT 2004 N/A 14.060 98.868 Infiniti G35 Journey 2007 Ricky Bobby 14.093 100.160 Infiniti G35 Sedan 6MT 2005 Trey 14.100 100.020 Infiniti G35 coupe 2007 Felix Young

These are relative to the group, not any specific cars. Any car could beat any other car depending on a ton of different factors, not the least of which is the money invested in modifications. Even the slowest Altima is still a respectable 14.5 at 94.

My point is that without a time slip, I can't tell good from bad.

apples to oranges....who cares?? the A/C and G are two different cars. I was surfing some web sights and G owners were just hacking the A/C to bits......examples "Its a graduation car""Its cheap looking ****ing ugly""Its a girls car""Ive only seen skinny zit faced asian kids drive them""bad looking headlights, cheap interior""they pull up to my G and try and race me, its pathetic""Its a nissan" <---hmmm isnt that funny (probably made in the same factory)

I am seriously baffled by the comparison and arguments, and obviously the ppl in that chat had some sort of complex or they wouldnt waist their time writing 4 pages of trash talk.....any how sorry to disturb your racing comparisons but I had to vent a little, its a girls thing

sorry about the no slip, i'll see if i still have it. i usually run about ten times depending on who's asking and what kinda car they have and what mods are visible under the hood. i don't think to save the slips cause i really just don't care. good driver, bad driver, blah blah blah. i'm just sharing a very controversial race and of course, everyone needs a slip especially the g35 owners. i don't remember the exact times, but i think i ran a 9 flat and the the g35s ran around a 9.5 or something like that. the track i run at gives false reading on the mph somtimes, but the reaction times are good and the track times are good. i know for a fact our reaction times were within .3 on that run, and i just continued to pull away. maybe i launched better, but i don't really care what driver you put against me in a g35 or g35s or what paper times you have to back up your opinion. you won't find a/c running 8.7's or 8.8's on paper, you just have to go out to the track. also, i have never seen a stock g any year run a 8.7 thru the 1/8th and i've seen many run. maybe they were just all bad drivers, i dunno know?

Without time slips who beats who in the 1/8 mile is immaterial. Here is the same data I posted above with the 1/8 mile times in it. Regardless of which car is faster, you will see that the times are not too far apart at 1/8 mile, but by the 1/4 mile the lead has opened and would continue to do so. I would expect that the first 1/16 mile would be dead even or perhaps you would be in the lead. It wouldn't last though. This is consistent with what one would expect from a heavier car with more horsepower and a 7600RPM redline.

RN, while I was on your side regarding my first post (only because its the truth), these times you posted are completely useless!!!!

The A/C is tuned to 270 hp, and while the 3rd generation altimas still had the same VQ35De engine, they were ALL tuned lower!!!!

The fact of the matter is this, the 2008 A/C is ACTUALLY tuned to 270 hp, the older G35 claims of 275 HP was under the older NON STANDARD HP ratings, thus they were actually putting out less than that.

I've since seen numerous A/C race G35 coupes at the drag strip, and they ALL smoke the G35 coupes. BUt that was the 2003 - 2006 G35 coupes. In 2007, they retuned the G35 coupe and G35 sedan (298 hp and 306 hp respectively) There was only 1 year when the G35 coupe was tuned to higher specs, and that was 2007.

So, the 2007 and 2008 G35 sedans are tuned higher, and are faster, but the previous models were tuned lower. Now we could all find a bunch of stats on paper and on the internet. But if you go to any track, with similar drivers, tires, stock setups, the 2008 G35 sedan would own an A/C. But to compare any G35 sedan to 3rd generation, "under-tuned" Altimas is not a fair comparison!

Maybe you'll believe this site.http://www.dragtimes.com/Infin....html

click on the time slip. That is what we want to see.

Click on the horsepower link and enter 3700lbs for the weight. You'll get 305 HP.

Believe me, a 13.65/103.7 quarter mile is pretty quick.

From CarandDriver - YES 5AT not 6MThttp://www.caranddriver.com/fe....html0-to-60-mph time: 5.2 secQuarter-mile time: 13.9 sec @ 103 mph

Andhttp://www.roadandtrack.com/as...S.pdfshows a0-to-60-mph time: 5.3 secQuarter-mile time: 13.9 sec @ 102+ mph

Those were stock engines with very low mileage.

YES, we're talking about 07 and 08's here. If you read the OP, so is he. Sure, a 03 260HP G would not run as well, but the OP said 08 G. So, I found what I could for the Altimas and the G's, note that both cars show various years.

ya i actually raced my friend's 2004 G35 coupe and beat him every time... pretty close race though. he had the Auto and i have CVT.... i wouldn't dare to race a G37 or actually, i wouldn't race a G37 and expect to win, i'd just do it for fun lol

This is about as unbias as you can get. It is the CarAndDriver test sheet for a 08 A/C 3.5 6MT. <2000 miles. It's complete and had an experienced driver at the wheel.

RN, u still missed my point. The times you posted were all '06 and '05 Altima times... those Altimas (even the SER) were NOT tuned to the specs of the '08 Altima coupe.

As I mentioned, I actually agree with you about the '08 G35 sedan being faster, but being that the title was regarding 08 vehicles, and being that the 08 Altimas are tuned higher than the 06 and 05 Altimas that you listed, the times dont do ANYTHING to support your position!

Only in this country do people take drag races seriously...sad.Strap a big enough engine to a sofa and it will beat anything out there in a straight line. What will that prove? That even a turd can win in a drag race.

Take those two around a race track and lets see which one comes on top and whose driver had more fun (hint...not the one fighting boring understeer most of the time).
