When this problem is active the following symptoms occur while under normal acceleration from a stoplight.

1) accelerator pressed, vehicle rolls forward slowly with little change in RPM, 3-4 second delay to actually getting a throttle response and accelerates car to 10-15mph.
2) maintaining same pedal position, another 3 second lag occurs before continued throttle response, 20-25mph. This same pattern continues throughout the acceleration process.

This problem occurs randomly under various operating times and conditions. I had a mechanic diagnose problem and found intermittent delay from TPS to Throttle Body movement. Replaced Throttle Body, problem re-occurred 10 days later.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to NICO!

Sadly, it sounds more like an actual transmission fault to me, which is fairly common in that model year Altima. Luckily, Nissan has 120,000 mile warranty on the CVT trannies, so I would consider taking to the dealer for diagnosis if you're below that.

If your Altima is still within the 120k powertrain warranty, take your car to a good Nissan dealership ASAP to have the issues properly diagnosed. You really want to have CVT issues (and/or perceived CVT issues) addressed by Nissan directly whenever possible.

Jesus Christ that's why I bought my car at 121,000 miles.

Usually whenever I occur a stop sign, or after the red lights turn green, I let the car roll slowly, but sometimes when I am mad, Reverse or Drive, I just go full throttle.

Hope that this CVT can live longer life, and I'll earn $3000 ready to swap the transmission.
