08 A/C Vs 08 Acura TL

yuppp, i got another one for you guys and this time i was REALLY suprised by the outcome. Im drivin home on route 146 at about 4 AM when i spot these really shiny HIDs coming up on my *** really fast. I expect nothing of it and just keep cruisin. Before i know it, the TL lines up with me and starts revving the s**t out of his car, he rolls down the window and asks " Hey what kind of car is that and what do you have under the hood buddy?" I just look at him and downshift to 3rd (now at 60 mph) he rolls his window back up and starts the beeping. beep, beep, beep boom i floor it hit 6500 hes still with me, i shift to 4th i start pulling away 6500 again then i shift to 5th im now leading by at least 2-3 cars 6500 again and 6th gear now. i hit 130mph when i noticed he wasnt by my side anymore, I'm guessing he let off. So I pull in to the closest gas station and he follows. All he could say to me was "Wow" haha what do you guys think? I think i got lucky, I dont know.

YES I AM....i dont have long enough roads to get mine up to 130!..lolin all seriousness....i did have mine up to 108....trying to set the high score on my gps max speed tracker!....and that was scary enough....and it was daylight...and minimal traffic...and i was lucky there were no cops around...but racing at 130...com on!thats a story in the paper waiting to happen....

lol! I feel that... I've only gotten up to 113/114 cuz of the stupid limiter on my 2.5... but I took my 2000 altima up to 138 redlinin in 5th gear while chasin another altima in the carpool lane while the freeway was packed... LOL I walked away from the shakin, cuz the overall race through traffic went from pomona to l.a. (like 30 miles?) haha that adrenaline was kickin my ***! haha

The type-s has 286HP but weight in at 3559 (MT) 3674 (Auto) LBS compared to our 3205 (6MT) 3271 (CVT), I don't think the 16HP will make up for the 400-500LBS difference.

The type-s has 286HP and the base has 258HP, according to acura.

yeah fair enough granted, I am sure I cant race, an experienced driver in a base TL could beat me.

Base model TL.. yes, you are supposed to take that!

Type-S TL, would be a toss up, depends on who's the better driver.. as mentioned, those extra 16 HP are thwarted by the extra few hundred pounds!

ALso, Hondas are NOTORIOUS for having poor Low end torque! Nice kill... I HATE HONDAS!!!!!!!!!!!!

But the person walking down the street never chose to race, you loose control you take them out or you hit a car who never asked to race. Take it to the track at least you will only take yourself out. And it being 4AM is not an excuse, the other night I saw a family with a newborn out for a walk at 3-4am not to mention there are people out and about at 4am.

I would go everywhere at 130 if there werent so many stupid drivers going the speed limit!! Whats the point of going somewhere if its going to take all day?? Thrills make great stories/memories, cant get enough of that!! Plus the feeling ya get afterwards is awesome!

If only police understood, I still hope they will start installing racing lanes!!! I am getting tired of explaining the them what I was thinking, and I wish I could drive my truck (ford lightning) again without getting routinely pulled over, and THat reallly does happen. lol.

ahah wow, yea it wasnt the type s i know that for sure but yaaa what a thrill, around where i live there's backroads everywhere. He happened to be going the same way that night and the backroads stretch for at least 4miles with no houses on the side or anything. So I knew i could get away with a quick run there. dont worry peoples! im ok!
