Hi, need opinion. I'm looking to purchase a 08 350z with 50k miles or 06 35gC with same miles and both same price. Both A/T ( I prefer stick wife said no).

Question which is better quality? I see a lot of pros and cons.
Seems like the g35 has a lot of electrical issues thats why I'm leaning towards the 350z. Opinions and thoughts?

All other things being equal, if you can deal with having two seats instead of four I'll give my nod to the Z just for the newer model year with its better engine.

Welcome to NICO! :badger

for the same options the Z and G will have the same wiring harnesses. literally the only difference between the two is the two rear seats/slightly longer and springs. they are the same car other then that built on the exact same platform so whoever told you that likely was talking out their a**. now i have seen alot of nissans(the infiniti is a nissan dont let anyone fool) you with ipdm, bcm, and even brake module issues.

if you plan to mod for any decent amount of power get the G for the de engine and better parts availability, otherwise the HR

be aware again since i have no idea what your plans are that the auto trannys are weak as hell vs the 6mt, fully built stage 3 transmission which is 4k cant handle more then 550 whp, the 6mt's stock have proven themselves to well over 1000 hp, sound performance ran 1250 whp on theirs and it held up. didnt have a issue till they put 28 inch tall slicks on and broke a input shaft, replaced with latest revision cd009 and no problems. now the previous revisions(06 should have a cd009) had syncro issues but drilling the locating holes allows running the revised syncros.

G is also a couple hundred lbs heavier

OK.. So I decided to go with 2008 350z with 48k miles from Carmax. It has all the bells and whistle except for Nav and Spoiler. This is the price I'm getting at...
Down Payment: $1,000
Amount Financed: $19,312.47 includes tax and title and maxcare extended warranty with 72mths/75k $300 ded.

Good deal?

seems to be about on par from a dealer depending on the trim level according to kbb since thats what most used car dealerships use. if its a base its a bit high other trims would be about right.

A little update...
The 350z had some rock chip marks so carmax painted the entire hood. Received the pic and it doesn't look like Maaco or Earl Scheib type a job. They actually painted and baked it. You can see the reflection off the hood. But then I found a same 08 G37base coupe with 20k less mileage and same out the price but with out the extended warranty like I am getting from 350z plus MaxCare. What do you guys think????

IMHO Any Z car that doesn't have a limited slip differential
is garbage.
There is nothing more frustrating and embarassing than
sitting at a stop light or stop sign in the rain or snow
and having your car sit there with the right wheel spinning
getting NO traction as all the front wheel drive cars leave You in the exhaust trail.

But the Z he was looking at is a touring model, it's the G37 that's the base model. Not sure what trims on the Infiniti side miss out getting an LSD.

Or an I missing something somewhere about the Z being a pegleg?

something is massively wrong with the driver mod if that is happening. traction on fwd with lsd will be similar to pegleg rwd tires being equal and the fwd's making the power of the Z are usually a few hundred pounds lighter. either the driver needs to learn to drive or not cheap out on tires, its nice to have and for sure helps but like i said something is wrong in this situation.
