08 2.5 OBD II connect issue?

Anyone here have an issue getting a generic scan tool to connect to an '08 2.5SL (sedan)? My laptop tool nor the Advance Auto handheld will connect. My ODB II port seems to have some non-standard pins, it should be CAN, right?

My port has pins
1-3
9-10-11-12-13

12 volt power is thru Pin #1 but my Scan tool plug has no pin in the #1 position, which explains the problem.

Is the '08 some kind of odd-ball connection port?
