I know you're asking 07sportm35 but I run 19 x 8.5 with 32mm offset and they sit nice in the front. I could have been a little more aggressive but they are fine and sit nearly flush. I would imagine that 38mm offset would tuck them under the fender a little more for a little more conservative look.
That would be about the same for the rears as far as looks go, but if I recall you are lowered with eibachs front and tein rear. Anytime you are lowered they will tuck more inside the fender due to negative camber gain. This allows you to run less offset.
What kind of look are you going for?
Figure this if it helps as a general guide. stock wheels are 8.5" wide and run a 50mm offset. you can add a 25mm spacer to reduce the effective offset of the wheel to 25mm. this is the max I would recomend to go as far as offset is concerned at stock ride height.
For every inch of width added to the rim you must also figure that into your offset by approx 12-13mm. So if you have a 9.5" wide rim you would want to run a max of 25mm + 13mm = 38mm to have the same look as a 8.5" rim with 25mm offset.
Hope this helped and didn't confuse
