Hello everyone!

My 07 Versa Hatchback sqeaks LOUD when I accelerate. Every time I bring it to the dealership it won't squeak and they send me home. Now it has started squeaking louder especially when there is a front passenger ... what is up?!

I want to thank this forum - I did find an answer to my other problem - with my Versa not starting sometimes (just a click click). I am going to have the dealership check the TSB and replace the fuel pressure regulator. I want to wait till I find out what the sqeak is though so they can fix both at the same time.

One more question, I purchased my Versa used with 20K miles on it. Is there a way to check an see if the two recalls for the brake and the seat belts were taken care of?

Thanks!

Your dealership can tell you if your car has any of the TSBs fixed by running the VIN number through the warranty database. It will also tell you which your car qualifies for too.

Is the squeak coming from the front or rear? Both sides or just one side? Only on acceleration or on slowing down too? Does it get worse on hotter days, colder days, or it doesn't matter? Any details you can give will help us internet mechanics.

Oh, and welcome to the site.

Actually, just last week I went in for my 15k service, and told them I had the same squeak. I thought it was my breaks, but apparently a lot of Versa's have this squeak, and it's actually the strut mounts I believe? The ones under your hood, in the top corners that are connected to your tires & springs & stuff? Anyways, it's covered under warranty so mine are getting replaced for free :D Just waiting for the parts to come in right now. Good luck with that!

Thanks for the info about the warranty database - I will definately ask the dealeship.

I feel like the dealership does not even try to find out what is wrong because I have an extended warranty with a $0 deductable and 60,000 miles to go. Maybe if it is a warranty/recall issue I will get better service.

About the "SQUEAK" it is way louder now and I just realized that it is worse when I turn on the AC. So pushing on the gas starts the squeak and turning on the AC (and sometimes a passenger in the front) makes it almost impossible to drive my Versa because of the noise. The sqeak is in the front of the vehicle, so loud it feels like it is almost in the cabin. Any ideas?

I am glad your dealership found the problem so quickly and under warranty is perfect. Do you think the strut mounts are affected by accelerating and AC use? I don't have a clue.

Accerlerating yes, A/C no. Does the speed of the fan make a difference in the squeak noise level? I am leaning more toward blower motor fan and housing than strut mounts if you say it is more tied to A/C running.

I did some "tests" it seems to me that it starts squeaking when I accelerate (more often lately) and sometimes it is worse when I turn on the AC, but not always. It does not seem to matter how high the AC is blowing it just sometimes get louder when the AC is turned on.

I think you may be on the right track with the blower motor fan and housing ... would it have to work harder as you accelerate? is the AC connected to it also? Is there a computer test that can detect problems with the blower motor fan and housing?

I really do appreciate you trying to help me. I have researched online and cannot find anyone else having this problem with their Versa. I need ammo to bring back to the dealership so they won't send me home AGAN! I love my Versa but driving it is giving me a headache!
