I guess I missed the memo from nissan that they were trying to make the new sentra look like an altima.

I saw two of them in the past 2 days. My god! Why have they done to the beautiful sentra!

I loved the look of the old Sentra SE-R. Heck, I even liked the look of the stock Sentra!



The interior looks like poop too! I hate this "new" styling. The over use of plastic! The placement of the shifter!

Eh...I'm not terribly fond of it, either. I don't like it when carmakers take styling cues from big cars and try to cram them into small cars. Sometimes it works, sometimes it fails. This time it failed.I liked the looks of the B13 a lot.The B14, though, was terrible looking. It was a mini-U13, which was also terrible looking.The B15 wasn't ugly, but it was terribly bland and completely uninspiring.At least the new one is memorable looking.

It really is a hideous car. Didn't they delay the release of the Sentra to redesign it after poor reception by focus groups? I can't even begin to imagine what it looked like before if this is an improvement.

It is very awkward looking, especially at the C pillar. Maybe it's a good thing that Nissan's HQ moved if this is the best the design guys in CA could come up with.

plastic-- i don't think its really any more plastic than the b15. it sort of remdins me of a hondafied (think civic si hatch shifter on dash) version of my frontier interior.

overall, its not great -- but i also don't mind it that much other than the stance.

This doesn't surprise me anymore. What WOULD surprise me, is if someone, anyone, could make a new good looking car, that wasn't a corvette or higher on the $ list.

I would have to agree that that sentra is nasty looking, i was about to throw up wen i saw that "new" camaro, gross man. When they revealed the 05 mustang...........omg, lets not forget about the R35 Skyline..abullet's going threw my head if they produce that.

I hate the way new cars are created now-a-days., its like they try to make it futuristic looking. The lines of the cars, interiors, even paint is ugly to me. haha the wheels on small cars are like 4 inches and just makes it look stupid.

It's just that the plastic is emphasized. In the last sentra they atleast tried to make it the same color as the rest of the dash

I've been wondering lately if Nissan is trying to self destruct or something. First the new Quest came out with that G**awful instrument panel (at least they tried to fix it this year). Then they screwed up the Pathfinder with the new, bigger unit with third row seating. That's done really well...NOT. And now the new Sentra. It's not a complete loss, but I wouldn't buy one. I like my '03.Then they went and put in one of those centre consoles (like the Echo) in the X-trail, which nobody likes. It's not selling worth beans either. When are they going to smarten up?. At least the Altima still looks good.As an aside, I was on vacation last week and rented a new Dodge Caliber. I was never so glad to get home to my Nissan's. What a complete piece of crap. I have nothing good to say about it. No wonder the big 3 are in trouble, with products like that out there.Have a good one.

I drove one on Saturday and was VERY impressed with how tossable it is. Pretty peppy, and a blast to sling around.

Well, I decided to find out for myself what the new Sentra was like, after giving it a less than stellar review based on looks. My son is looking for a new car, so we've been tire kicking all week. We tried the Sentra and the Versa on Monday. Sorry to say this, but the new Sentra is off our list. Neither one of us could get comfortable in this car. It just didn't feel right. Didn't like it. On a positive note, we really liked the Versa. It was a pleasant surprise. Drove well and looks good, especially given the price. It is definately on our list. Tonight we drove a Mazda3. What a nice car. First time I tried one. Very impressed. We're going to check out a few more before we buy, but the Sentra will not be the one. Sorry.

The 3 has no balls, IMO. A buddy of mine as a 2.3i 5spd and it felt like ages in 2nd gear compared to my '01 Sentra. It's comfy and handles nicely though.

I think I'll hit up one of those "Shift2Nissan" events when they come to the Atlanta area and see how this new Sentra is.

I know what you mean re: balls. Non of the cars we test drove had any spunk. However, in our situation, we are not necessarily shopping for a pocket rocket. We are looking more towards a grocery getter that gets good gas mileage. We are still looking.Thanks.
