ok ok. for anyone with a '07 sedan....

zo and soul woods. i just got this update done. the computer reset from the 07 to the 08 g35 by the dealer and it fixes the throttle response problem. to where everytime you try to take off it feels like your taking off in a jet.

got it done last week and its amazing. i can start off like a normal luxury sedan. it doesnt slow the car down at any way.

and i got the navi update too. so now when i say connecticut it doesnt say michigan. it actually understands me. its like a woman who understands.

Thanks for the tip on the reflash! I think I'm going to start letting the dealership do my oil changes so I'll be there next month!

I am going to the service on Friday. I might take out an 08 to see if I like it. If I like it I'll ask them to do it for me.

Thanks for the tip. Did it change your top speed limit?

GOOD question! It would suck to not be able to go 160 mph anymore.

Interesting. I have an 07 auto and do not seem to have a problem with the throttle response problem I keep reading about. Wonder if they corrected it with models produced later in the year??

Well maybe your like me and its NOT a problem for you. I love the abrupt throttle tip in.

Its also not as big a problem on the automatics as the manuals from what I've read.

I guess it's just me but i like being able at will to take off like a jet...we all invested in a performance car and I dont see why having a little take off power is such an annoying thing.

On some of the manual transmission 07's the gas pedal is like an on/off switch. Makes it hard to modulate the clutch and gas pedal. You either light up the tires or stall the car.

On my automatic its pretty aggressive throttle tip in but exactly the way I like it. Just don't drive with a lidless container of any liquid or you'll be wearing it LOL

Thanks a letting us know about this Suby. I've been wondering if they will do that. I need an oil change right now, so will probably have them flash it for me too. I may also test drive an '08 first because I've gotten used to the throttle and I also quiet like it. Still, I'd love some of the other software updates. If anyone else does it, please share with us your thoughts too.

Didn't know they had voice activated navis in the Gs now ? You can say where you want to go and it listens and does something now ? Does that mean you can tell it to plug in any destination wether stopped or moving now ?

If so I wonder how much it would be to upgrade if it's even possible an 03 navi to the 07/08 ...hmmm

Yep, all voice activated, whether rolling or at a stop. Have no idea how much an upgrade would cost or if its possible.

Sweet! Do you know if this update will apply to non-navi models? The bluetooth on my journey recognizes dialing and phone numbers, but not temperature commands... pretty cool!

Hey Suby:

I called my dealer today and scheduled my car for an oil change. I also asked the service rep to upload the new software. While he didn't say that they couldn't do it, it sounded like he had not heard that this was possible. Is there any kind of bulletin number or something that I can refer him to just in case, or alternatively, please could you let me know who your service exec is and his/her phone number so I can give that to my guy if he's not sure where to get this?

Thanks a lotTamir

yeah, do you have a TSB # or something?? I'm getting used to the throttle tip in, but have to admit that its a little stronger than i would like. maybe its cause i only got less than 400 miles on it... or maybe cause all i do is city driving where i barely drive faster than 30mph. how sad it is. haha

Thanks Suby. I had my appointment today and as expected, the service rep said there is no software update, so I'll wait to see what you have on your receipt, and try again.

I think they may have done it on my car when I had the transmission serviced a month ago.

When I dropped the car off it would break traction on the 1-2 shift almost every time. When I picked it up it will not break traction on the 1-2 shift.

I called Infiniti customer service to see if they know about these. They looked into it and got back to me. They said that there are two separate updates - one for the throttle tip in, and the other for the navigation system, but that neither has a TSB out, because neither problem exists in all of the G's (some of them have apparently been updated brand new in '07 according to the customer support folks). They said that they would also not apply these unless my car specifically had a problem with the throttle tip-in and navigation systems respectively.

So they suggested that if I do indeed have a problem with these, I should take my car in, and tell the service folks that I have this problem, and if they verify it, they will apply these fixes...

To be honest, I'm very used to the throttle now and don't have a problem with it. When someone else drives it, they definitely take a while to get used accelerating smoothly when they're not in a rush, but I'm ok with it. Still, I'm curious how this would change my car. I will probably go and test drive an '08 to see what the difference is. I drove a G37 and didn't notice a significant difference in throttle tip-in, so maybe mine already has the update applied?

Still curious to hear what your receipt says Suby - at least that way if we do take it in, we can tell them what to apply.

ok ok. got it guys. ya the throttle i was so used to it also. but now it just takes off normal usaully id have to give it gas to get it going then let off the gas for it to set the regular sleep quicky. now just normal accelartion. which is amazing.

but here are the TSBs you didnt get the from me. last thing i want is infiniti calling me and bitchslapping me for telling you guys about something that you are all endtitled to getting after giving them thousands of dollars.

A 07-028a is for cold engine surge.

01-015A is for navi command update.

07-028A cruise control fast throttle.

good luck guys . dealer is soo aaaa loss of words i mean help me out when i need something they get $$ for it too. i mean cmon. at first i didnt think that my dealer actually did it. but when i walked in like and this is wrong. hes like oo well we need to test it bla bla. im like no need theres a TSB i saw it and its on some cars and i know for a fact that my car has it otherwise i wouldnt be reading the TSB looking for fixes. it was snowing here so i was in snow mode and couldnt go past 10mph it was soo bad. when it cleared up leaving work one day i gave it gas im like whooaa. am i in snow mode. cuz it took off soo smooth. nope., shhh cars broke.. but then i remembered that i had that done. so im like niice :D i love it. get it done!!!

ps. u didnt get this from me.

Ok,

I came back from the dealer. They serviced my car and asked if I can talk to somebody about this update for smoother throtle. They get the service manager for me but he was no help. He did not know much about it. He called the master techinician in to help answer the questions. He told me he can get it down till they do the allignment for the 30k service. So I left and got a call later the manager wanted to talk to me. I went in and he told me There is a different ecu flash in my car then the original 07. The reason because in January I had that problem when I pushed my car hard went into fault(vdc, slip and SES light lid up and stayed till I turned the engine off and turned it back). So that time they had to replaced the intermittent cam sesor. But when they testdrove my car they were able to reproduce the problem. So they flashed the ecu came out same. They got this other version of the ecu from Japan. They flashed it with that and the problem went away. So I asked what is the different between the 07,08 and mine. He told me, Mine was basically a trial version of the 08.

Cut it short no wonder I had no issue with my throttle. I told them I stay with the one I have now no need the 08 flash.
