I have a 2007 Murano with the VQ35DE V6. The vehicle has 150K on it and lately I have been noticing a very brief engine knock on startup. Cold starts are OK, it's when the engine has been warm that I experience the knock. The knock does not occur on every warm start. The knock is random and lasts less than a second, yet it is noticeable. The low oil pressure light flickers on-off-on-off during this occurrence. I use Nissan OEM oil filters.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Welcome back to NICO!

You may want to check your oil level, could be that simple since higher mileage engines can burn oil later in life. If the oil level is okay, You may want to start to think about potentially replacing your oil pump. Thankfully you're not hearing knocking all of the time, just for a moment on start up, but better to take care of the $5 problem before it becomes a $500 problem.

Thanks for your response. I have used several brand oil filters to see if that will help and the frequency of the knocks increases with the Nissan OEM oil filter. I have stopped using the Nissan oil filter and the frequency has lessened. At first I explored the oil filter since a faulty ADBV may be the culprit and I only used oil filters with silicon ADBV.
