Have any of you guys recently changed your headlight bulbs or upgraded to HIDS in this coold cooold winter??

I was in the process of twisting the bulb out to the right to unlock it from the housing and the piece that clips onto the projector itself cracked. ( the piece that clips on from the top and the bottom. I was just thinking that it was too cold that it just snapped.

I tried repairing it with superglue and tape and it was a no go. I went to the dealer to try and order that piece, they said you would have to order the whole headlight. That is bs. But what do you expect from the dealer.

If anyone has gone through this could you throw some help this way? thanks.

Try going online and getting the part, if not then you might be able get one for the junkyard. I am pretty sure it is going to find that piece at a junkyard since the car is fairly new.

Ya I was thinking the same thing about the junkyard, but i'm calling all of them before i go anywhere. Its -10 over here in chicago and i'm not leaving anywhere if i don't have to.

Recommend any sites that might sell it?

Can you take a pic of what broke? I am not that far from you and have tons of parts.

Ya sorry no pics. But it is a circular ring that is light gray. It clips onto the projector of the headlight from the bottom and the top of it. This is what accepts the 9005/9006 bulb.

Yeah, that's generally how it goes with dealers. Whole assembly or nothing.
