07 maxima average speed info problem

Hey guys. Have a problem with my 07 maxima. The average speed shown on my trip info screen says its only 8.9 mph to 10.8 mph in the city. On the highway it goes up to 30-35 mph. That's impossible, especially with the way i drive. Anybody have an idea how to fix this problem or what is causing it?

It takes the average of what you are going, so if you drive slowly in the city it will do that. Esp with a lot of stop and go. It needs a long time to get a good mean.

Well, I've been driving my car for a while and my avg. Mph really doesn't go any higher. How much do you think i have to drive so it can get the groove of things? I did a reset of all the trip info.

it should give you a reading after a few minutes. if you reset it on the highway going 80mph. and it should spit out a reading of 80mph after a few minutes after reset
