The problem is that the display/stereo will turn off for a few seconds and come back on randomly. After driving for at least 30 minutes, it will not do it again. It normally does it 2-5 times when I first get up in the morning from work or go home from work for a span of 5-15 minutes. If I leave it parked anywhere too long and drive it, it will normally do this resetting thing.

I have tried isolating the problem, but even with stereo off and bluetooth disconnected it still randomly does it.

I have had the vehicle for 13 months so far and it just started this problem last month. I had a custom stereo system installed the day I purchased it and did take it to the dealership I purchased it from for maintenance shortly before the problem started occurring.

Can anyone find anything online about this issue, I just can not seem to find any posts anywhere with a problem similar to mine.

It is definitely entering some reset mode or short circuit prevention or something.

I will try to record it on my phone leaving work today and put it up on YouTube.

Just a subwoofer and amp. Even with the stereo off it still does it.

So I had this problem on my 06 M35, i replaced the dvd/blue ray unit in the glove box and it solved my issues! I pulled it out and got the numbers off of it, popped those in ebay and found one for $120 shipped. I heard clicking noises from the glove box when it would reset. There's a good write up on here about taking the glove box apart for changing the cabin air filter, same process.

Don't know if that is the same issue as mine. Were your symptoms the same? My display goes off, audio turns off, the heater lights blink on/off until it reboots and the fuel economy on the display says *.** until it fully boots up.

Update: I had an electronics store take out my A/V unit Part Number: 28185-EH20A. The heater/backup camera/display still randomly glitches and resets. What could it be now?
