Okay, so I recently bought an 07 m35. For the most part the car runs well, except for an issue that only seems to occur towards the end of the day when I've already been using the car for a couple of hours.

It doesn't happen every time I accelerate but sometimes when I'm at a stop light and accelerate it will jump forward as if someone hit my car from behind and make a loud noise (similar to a bang/gunshot is the best I can describe it). After that the car will feel sluggish when accelerating.

If I turn off the car for a bit it seems to fix itself atleast until it does it again. I have no idea what it could be. Any help or input on what it could be would really help. Thanks.

Sounds like a transmission issue to me. Since you just purchased the vehicle, I'd make sure all fluid levels are full and look clean, especially the transmission.

May want to get the transmission flushed/ serviced in case the incorrect fluid was used and could be causing issues.

There was an accel. pedal sensor recall on certain years.
Grab your VIN # & call Infiniti to see if any outstanding recalls need to be performed on your M.
You can also stop into any Infiniti dealer, they will research for you.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll definitely be looking into that

When I bought the car a week ago it had no codes whatsoever. Then a couple of hours later the check engine light came on. I'll post any codes once I run it through a scanner.

Okay, I'll check all of those out and bring back an update on whether that fixed the problem.
