07 G35x w/ Premium and Tech (and spare rims and tires) or 08 with Premium?

Hi there - I've been lurking around your site for the last few days...glad to see everyone seems to be quite pleased with their G's.

I'm getting rid of my 05 Altima SE-R 6MT and the G35X has made my short list...along with an A4 3.2 Quattro S-Line (auto in both cars). I have found a decent deal on a new 07 G35X, with the Premium and Tech packages. The deal also includes a set of winter tires and rims (not sure why the dealer is including this on an AWD sedan??!!). No choice on colour however, Blue Onyx is all this dealer has left.

My question is this - does anyone know of any differences between the 07 and 08 G35X? The price of an 08 with the Premium package is the same as the 07 (with Premium, Tech plus winter tires and alloys). Seems to me if there is no real difference I might as well take the 07. Unless of course Audi blows me away with an offer.

The only difference in the 08 is the Ipod jack, a change to the BOSE premium package, the updated nav,(I also believe no more CF reader) and no more throttle tip in jerking your body back. I also assume that all the issues/bulletins won't be a problem with the 08, but of course new ones will arise.

I found a considerable difference in handling between the 6sp manual and the G35X. If given a choice I would take the 08 6 speed manual with premium package over the G35X. Test drive both if you can. The 6 speed also get better mileage versas the 5 speed auto.

Hey my old Telcobrother. I think the X takes the corner better. I testdrove both before I bought the X. Same corner I hit the corner hard the S started to move her rear end out( That'ss not a bad thing as long as it is in controll) the X took it like there is no tomorrow all I felt was the professionalism of the AWD system.

I don't think he was considering the S. He try to pick between the 07 or 08 G35X. If you are not a big ipod dude and you are planning to keep your car for awhile go for the 07 if you like ipod or/and want to keep the car for just 2-3 years go with the 08. If I was in your shoes I would wait till January and get the 08 G35X sport. That's going to be something good. I can imagine the mpg on that if I drive it. Most likely not even 10. ahahahaha
