I have this light on my dash.
In service after diagnostics it's seems to be a problem in cylinder head (driverside), there is two camshafts (intake and exhaust) one of them is operated mechanicaly (intake one, if I'm not mistaken) and other (exhaust) is operated by solenoid.
And there is a problem in this unit.
In that service where I do diag. there where three EX 35 car's with this problem.

Symptoms: except SES on dashboard, when you try to ride on something like sidewalk but a little higher (when you operate between 1000-2000 rpm), engine tries to stall(you can even feel it) or it can stall at all, so you need to start it again. Like they explain me it's happens because this solenoid still operate with idle part of exh. camshaft and not switched to the driving part of exh. camshaft. (sorry for so poor explanation)
In any other conditions there is no problem (on road, highway e.t.c.) driving is smooth without any noticable problems with engine work.

So, can anyone tell me what is it? Have you encountered a similar situation if yes what i need to do ?
Thanks for everyone !))

That is an interesting description you have there.

Without knowing what fault code you have all we can do is guess.

There have been a few instances where one of those engines might have been run low on oil (even for a second) and it causes the camshaft timing device to come out of time. Replacing the little cover on the front of the timing cover sometimes helps.

And can you explain me what cover are you talking about ? Can you show on some blueprint?
Thanks.

Ok, i understand, thank you !
So you think it can be a problem ?
Also in the service they told me that the problem is in this solenoid you can see below
Image
And how you see from the scheme this cover 13040v or 13040va is complete set (cover, solenoid and bolt.) I can't if i'm right change just the cover, but i can change just solenoid (23796 and 23796a) if this is a problem.
So what you thing?

Anyway i will post here a code.

The issue is inside the cover not the adjustment solenoid. The code would be different.

Also there is a software update that the dealer probably has that are typically used in conjunction with each other.

Ok.
The fault code is 0024, as serviceman said me.
It wasn't serviceman that make me diagnostics, but i think he told me right code.

P0024- 0024- EXH/V TIM CONT-B2 — 2 × EC-141

That is a clip from the service manual.

It means the car is sensing the exhaust camshaft timing is out of spec on the drivers side of the engine.

The covers and a reprogram should fix that.

Same thing told me serviceman.
So you think it's necessary to change all cover, or only solenoid change will fix ?
Also i will ask them about repogram, im not sure they do this.
But anyway thanks.

I would say yes the whole cover needs to be replaced, yes. From my experience that is the only thing that will resolve that particular issue.

Also from what I have read, at least in the US only a dealer has the tool and security clearance to reprogram the computer.

Hi I have one more question.
Probably you can tell what it can be.
At this video you will see something like smoke from exhaust (it is warm weather near 51 deg.) so i don't think that it is steam.
It comes in 5-6 sec after start-up and is continued for 15 sec, after everything is ok.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adGQm-TQ ... plpp_video
This noise is not from car :gapteeth: .
And this is only when it's "cold" start-up, in the morning or after hours of parking.
What it can be? Oil level is norm as I check it.

I think that's just normal condensation in the exhaust system. If the G's exhaust system is anything like the one on the Q45, it can hold a lot of water under certain conditions. Also, the engine probably runs rich during start-up, so you may be seeing a little bit of unburned fuel vapor.

If you're not loosing oil or coolant, I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm not loosing oil.
But I don't check coolant, need to check it.
I haven't such thing on my previous car and it was mazdaspeed 6 with 330 h.p., and that is why i begin worry.
Yeah, I agree if it was cold weather, but its warm 52 deg. So first I will check coolant level

When you're talking about an exhaust system cooling down from 150 degrees (just a guess) to 50 there can be a lot of condensation going on... especially if it's humid.
