Hey guys my name is Eric and I don't know much about detail work but since the economy is bad i can't afford to take my G35 to a professional so I am going to try to do it on my own and i want some advice on my interior work . Below are some pics of my main concern areas.. Thanks for you help.

With all due reespect, it looks like your knob is peeling You can try to buff it a bit and see if it evens out a little. Your options include reemoval of the remaining "clear coat" protectant, new knob or deal with it.

The steering wheel area is rubber so that is likely terminal too.

As for the cup/cubby holder - the plastic may be salvaged by some light sanding (and possibly a repaint) but do your homework and try an inconspicous area first.

Good luck!

Jeese....that is an '07? What happened to it? Looks like someone needs to be more careful.

I don't know if those parts will pop out any way to be resanded and painted. Otherwise, you will probably have to live with it.

I have the same issues with my 07 G35. My steering wheel is actually much worse; the paint is completely worn away where my thumb rests. http://forums.g35club.org/zero...93939#

I complained to the dealership and they said there's nothing they could do to help. http://forums.g35club.org/zero...93939#

If you find a fix, please post it. Sometime I'm going to try stopping at an auto paint shop and see if they could do anything.

the knob is a easy solve. im actually going to do mine over the winter time some time soon.

but quick steps for it.

remove the knob. eheheheheh giggity. there should be a clip on the bottom.

get painters tape tape the whole knob leaving only the aluminum part open. use very fine sand paper or like a brillo pad works sand it all down. clean it. and then just use silver duplicolor spray paint the high temp one. and use a clear too. apply two coats of each and will be as good if not better than new because it will not chip.

Try a different dealership. My inside door handles were replaced under warranty. My dealer was about to change out my steering wheel too, but i didn't have time that day to leave my car with them.
