I know there are video hook ups in the center console, but I haven't been able to figure out if you can play video through the NAV while driving. Or a way to save music videos like .mp4 or .avi or .mpeg to hard drive to play videos in the NAV?

Also the side view mirror all the way out show too much car for me, anyone know how to remove side view mirror housing?

Thanks for the help!

You won't be able to play video while driving without doing illegal modifications. And for ripping to the hard drive, I'm 95% positive you can only do music from original CDs (actual albums), not burned CDs or any other format including video. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about the music part.

I don't quite get why you want to remove the side mirrors, which is also illegal (to not have side mirrors). Are you going to replace them with something smaller?

I hear you could play video through the ipod hook up in the center console but the e-brake has to be up. I was wondering if any knows how to do a mod that would allow for video to play on nav. I know you aren't "supposed" to have video play while you drive, but hey... you aren't supposed to go over 65 on a freeway, I think my 140 would be bad too

As for the mirrors I do not want to replace or change. I feel the mirrors don't angle far enough out so was going to adjust where the housing sits in place so I don't see the side of the car when I look at the side view mirrors.

Thanks

Ah gotcha. I wasn't sure what you were talking about the mirrors whether it was you felt the housing was to big or the mirrors reflected the car to much. Couldn't tell ya on that one.

The only reason I said video is illegal because some aren't in the know. Can't help you there either besides building a sweet aftermarket system with two monitors that I want to do once I have time to tinker around. Although there's been talk somewhere I thought about rigging it up to do so, try searching..?

Get the wiring diagram of your car. There is a relay in the e-brake housing that you should be able to tap into to close the circuit loop. When you pull the brake up, the relay closes and the video feed begins/is allowed...I know of people who either permanently close the loop or you could wire in a toggle switch hidden somewhere. I am about to rig my wife's MDX so that I can toggle her backup camera on whenever I want...instead of just when it is in reverse. That way I can spy on tailgaters!! haha...

Do you know where I can find the wiring or who has done this so I may contact them?

It was only done on the none navi screen. I saved it on one of my computer or ext. hard drive. I going to look for it if you need it. It won't be easy. I've got 3 computer in the house and 2 extrnal hard drives. Probably millions and millions of files.
