OK, I bought my G35 3 months ago used. Test drove ran great. But not 20 min later while in cruise control @65 mph, crossing a toll bridge but going in the opposite direction of toll devices the car just shuts off. I've replaced the following; fuel pump, coil packs, starter, fuses, most relays. Checked camshaft ps bank 1, battery 100%.

What can it be? I know that electronic toll machines are mentioned in the owners manual, but not how to fix it. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME. I AM LOCATED IN THE SF EASTBAY AREA.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

P.S. I've even had a locksmith check the keys and they're fine. So is the timing chain.

Gotta check the codes. Chances are it's trying to tell you what's wrong. Read them or get them read, and post the results. As the quickest of quick checks, you can rule fuel in or out simply by spraying some Brakleen or Gumout down the intake past the air filter. If it starts and then quits, it's a fuel issue.

Hooboy. Well, if it isn't throwing new codes, that points to cam or crank sensors most likely. First, hook a scanner up and see if the ECM is outputting any engine RPM while you crank. If not, your CKP is bad. If it shows good, try disconnecting both CMP's and see if it starts after a long crank. If so then one of the cam sensors is bad.

You have to have both CMP's loose for it to prove anything, if it has one good and one bad then it won't fire. Did you get any scan RPM from the crank?

The P1815 is just a paddle shifter code and shouldn't even cause a limp. It definitely won't cause a no-start. The U1000 means the ECM isn't hearing from some other CAN device that it expects to hear from. Something is offline, so first, check ALL your fuses. Don't screw around visually inspecting, use a test light. The missing unit could be the tranny, cluster, ABS, IPDM, or RAS control if equipped. In particular, the tranny or IPDM being incommunicado will definitely cause a no-start. If you find no blown fuses, you'll need to get it scanned with a high-end scanner that can detect all those systems to see who's MIA.
