I have an 07 too and I think you have to have the NAV package. Try hitting the Disc/AUX input a few time see if you get a screen for video.

I have an 07 with the nav. I connected a DVD player to the audio input and all I got was sound. After a few seconds, the screen says that the video will resume once the car is stopped and then jumps to the nav map. I connected a video ipod and same thing.. just sound. The manual says we should be able to watch video on the screen. Even when I'm stopped and the engine is not running, there's no video. Not sure how this can be done

Looks like you can only watch video when the parking brake is on.

I connected my ipod video through the center console with a couple differnt types of cables: one that connects to the ipod through the dock connector at the bottom, and one that connects to the ipod using the 3.5mm headphone jack. Both do not allow controlling of the ipod through the dash. I am really disappointed about this because every dealer I talked to before I purchased the car said this was possible. I called the Infiniti customer care and they had no idea and said I should contact my sales rep or the service dept. Service Dept had no idea but said if there was a special cable, the car would have come with it. I'm still waitng to hear from my sales rep. But it looks like this might not be possible. If you look at the lid of the armrest, you'll see that there's a spot near the front that slopes and allows you to run a wire from the inside of the center consol to the outside with the lid closed. I run my ipod wire through this hole and have my ipod outside in the cup holder so I can change songs.

If anyone else has an answer to this question, I'd love to hear it. Thanks

gymcshoe thanks for the feed back. My guess is that we may be able to connect it through the aux hook up but will require the IPOD hardware to enable managment through the head unit (perhaps something simular to what BMW does with their head units; just not directly enabled). I may talk to one of the local audio car installers to see if they have heard of anything that is available.

I really like the video & audio AUX input of the G35 (I have the G35x sedan). While it would be nice to also have an iPod-specific interface (so that the iPod can be controlled via the steering wheel), the advantage of the AUX input is that you can use plug-in just about anything that has audio/video outputs. There are many remote controls available for the iPod. Many of these work via RF, so that the remote doesn't have to point directly at the iPod. You can get these RF remotes just about anywhere. I saw one that looked pretty good at Target the other day. It comes with a module that plugs into the bottom of the iPod. The remote itself is small and black, and can be placed anywhere in the car.

However, I'm waiting for the Sendstation CruiseControl. It's also an RF remote, but is designed to be attached to the steering wheel. It's not available yet. I emailed SendStation, and they said it is scheduled to be available 2nd quarter of 2007. They also said that it will not get in the way of the airbag, if the airbag deploys. Sendstation's web site (http://www.sendstation.com) doesn't have information about this product yet, but I read about it in iLounge, and information is also available in the following URL:

It looks really promising!

I was able to connect my iPod throught the auxillary input and watch video, except the video will only play when you've come to a stop. As to why you're not able to see video on your screen from your iPod, I'm assuming it's the cable you're using. Apple was sneaky by switching the Right audio with the Video input and vice versa. I bet you were using a NON-Apple video cable. If so, the right audio and the video cable has to be switched when using a standard video/audio cable which you can purchase for far less than Apple's asking price of $19.99. Apple was betting on people not being able to figure this out so that they're forced to buy their audio/video cable for 3x's the normal cost. I'm pretty sure it's the right (RED cable) that connects to video, if not, try the white. Good luck! By the way, not sure why your DVD player is not working though...
