My 07 Maxima se shutters in drive when it has been sitting overnight or after several hours. It only happens for the first few take offs and only in drive never reverse. It almost feels like a knock and feels like its only on the left side. My shop has no clue but I am thinking its a trans problem since it only occurs in drive untill warm up.
any input would be appreciated
it only has 63k

Any check engine light or error codes? Have you taken it to a shop that can do full diagnostics on the transmission (using a "Consult" device)? Even if there are no error codes causing a check engine light, Consult might show useful diagnostic info from the transmission and help confirm or rule that out as the culprit.

If you suspect it's a CVT issue, I would take it to a Nissan dealer and no one else. These are picky transmissions. You may even qualify for the extended CVT warranty coverage depending on your mileage.

thanks for the reply. no check engine codes. I am going to go to the dealer. I had gotten a letter from Nissan a while back saying I had a 100k warranty on the trans.
There is such a difference on this cvt as compared to my 09 Mo
