Ok so here is the thing. I've been talking with a friend of mine who's buddy is confident his 07 civic si (sedan) with a built head, intake and exhaust would beat my 03 350z in a race from a dig.

I for one told him that there is absolutely no way he is going to beat be unless he has a turbo. What this kid is saying is that his built head and all has given him 50+hp on top of the 210hp stock....Now I didn't call him out on this but in what world does a built head an intake and exhaust give you 50+ hp on a civic?

I haven't raced him yet but we are planning on it soon. He backed out the first time telling me something about the vacuum in his car was messing with his hp and that he is getting his car tuned this weekend so it'll be in racing shape whatever that means?

Anyway just wanted to get you guys opinion on what you think will happen and if this kids full of **** about how much HP he has.

I've heard of some well built heads giving some 20-30 hp, but never actually seen a before & after dyno. If you're friend had been thinking he'd have had a a dyno done before and then after so he could see exactly what his money bought him.

And not to sound like the old man in the neighborhood (even though I am) but, stay off the streets when you finally run them.

This^.
Since neither car is particularly great at drag racing, might I suggest an alternative to an illegal street race? NICOfest Carlisle (May 12-13 Sat/Sun at the Performance &Style Show) Any make car is welcome. That not only gives your friend time to fix his vacuum problem, there's also a dyno right near our tent, so he can figure out what he's gained ovver stock. Plus NICO also happens to operate the track there that weekend. It's not a dragstrip, but you both can compete against the clock to see who's better. And the best part, it's all legal.

Yeah K-series is no joke.

A K20 with tsx heads would give a stock Z a pretty good run for its money.

Keep the expiriment off the streets though.. :)
