It's not "all" the time...however it happens a lot...shifting between 1st and 2nd I get a "click" like it's not sync'd. It doesn't happen in any of the other gears....I think I've read about this issue "somewhere"....

I don't have the issue if I shift fast, however, fast shifts for me are far an few between...I baby the car for the most part....

I've been driving a manual for about 25 years, I've got a 95 altima with 170,000 miles still on the original clutch, I'm pretty sure it's not me causing this issue....

anybody care to "enlighten" me on this issue???

Thanks!SO

I have an '07 G35 Sedan 6MT. Supposedly it's an issue with the 2nd gear synchro. Nissan/Infiniti really needs to remedy this problem. It doesn't happen all the time but it happens enough that it can be annoying. Because of this issue, now I almost always rev match my 3-2 shifts every time I'm downshifting (not that I don't rev match most of my shifts anyway) just so I don't have to deal with the herky jerky.

On a side note, do you '07 Z guys have to deal with a clutch that grabs high like us '07 G Sedan guys or what?

I get a click that I didn't get on my '04. Found out mine's just a sound coming from the stick hitting the fabric around the gear box. Like a piece of plastic bending. Maybe that's not what you're getting, because mine has no effect on the shift itself. Just a click.

I get the same probelm you are discribing. I have a free 1,000 mile checkup and I will ask them to look at it. I will let you know what happens. Let me know if you find out any info also. Thanks

I'll be curious as to what they say....

but..........

I just returned from my first road trip with the car...1200 total miles (wisconsin to Kansas City and back)

I stopped at almost all the rest stops along the way....because I smoke....however I don't smoke in the car, so I made a bunch of stops there and back....

The wonderful part was the fact the you get to merge back into hiway traffic coming out of the rest stop area....so...uhhhh...I definately was hauling @$$ coming out of the rest area....I've noticed since I started getting on it....("spirited driving") my issue is now gone.....I've babied the car since day 1....so perhaps there was some "issue" with parts not exactly correctly aligned...that worked itself back where it was supposed to be from the intense acceleration.....is don't know....but I did notice on the trip back the car did NOT make the 1-2 clunk...I even tried to get it to clunk...no dice....I'm hoping that the issue is gone....

however I would still like to know what Nissan says about your issue...I may only have a temporary "fix" situation....please let me know...

Thanks! Good Luck!SO
