I take it you're measuring pressure inside these "miracle intakes"?

Let me know when you find one that exceeds atmospheric pressure.

I'll bet you a PAYCHECK that the pressure in Fujita intake is not substantially different than that of a stock intake. And you have it here in writing.

Trust me, I KNOW the writers at NPM. I also don't know where you got the idea that *I* was "manipulating dyno pulls", but I'm not the one claiming ridiculous gains from a Hot Air Intake. I *do* know that I've built more cars than you've had birthdays, so that's worth something.

FACT: The density of underhood air is lower. FACT: The temperature of underhood air is higher. FACT: The ONLY thing you're doing is removing minor restrictions.

Save this technobabble for the Honda kids - They get all ga-ga over shiny crap and bright-colored filters.

Not here, Pal.

you guys really take this stuff to heart dont you!?

Look, the As$ dyno gained power. The actual Dyno gained powerWho really cares about all the technical babble that goes with how it gained power? sure, it needs a heat shield since the new models will be a pain to get a CAI done without using a smaller battery or moving it all together. whether I gained 2 or 12whp, doesnt matter. Its better than it was from the factory. And if any of you ever looked at the stock intake on the 07s, it has 2 paths from the grill to suck in air, but on the 2.5, only the side on the passenger side sucks in air from outside, and on the 3.5 only the shorter piece right by the battery sucks in any air. the rest is just extra plastic that does absolutly nothing. and the actual intake box and piping, is highly restrictive, but the stock intake does suck in more colder air from outside than the WAI does. which is why i put the stock duct piping back on to route some of the air towards the new intake better.

interesting thread.

I have my 2.5 and honestly it has enough power for me....BUT I would definitely consider a cold air. Im kinda wondering, how does it sound? I guess im asking if there is any change in exhaust note...Just curious.

Not trying to take sides here. But my understanding is, as air speed within the intake increases (via reduction in restriction) the pressure decreases, which generates a greater pressure in the cylinder via increased mass. He did say pressure in the cylinders, although not with enough precision to make me comfortable.

Let me know if I need to correct my understanding.

That's ALL you had to say - I agree 100%.

Agreed 100% as well. Nissan adds a TON of resonators and baffles to decrease intake sound.

Finding a good high-pressure area in the nose is more of a science, but without the benefit of a wind tunnel, it's all guesswork.

ANY additional ventilation from the front will help, that's for sure.

We're not trying to take a stand against short ram, or any other intake setup for that matter. We're simply making sure that the information passed on to everyone is as factual as possible.

The key to freeing up hp is basically the same on all engines in all vehicles. Move air in and out of the motor as efficiently as possible. Everything has the potential to be a restriction.

This includes keeping the under hood temps as low as possible. I'd add some thermotec wrap to my exhaust and run some dryer duct to direct cold air "towards" the filter.
