Hello,I’m a brand new user.I have a 4th Gen: 2007 Altima 2.5SL non-BOSE system.I mainly use my mp3 player to listen to music on way to work via the AUX in. (Sansa e280R)

I am looking to upgrade the audio system for a louder but clearer sounding system. I don’t need the subwoofer box. The bass from the stock 6x9s and the space of trunk really thump already.

I did my homework @ Crutchfield looking up all the sizes etc:I am thinking of getting the following for my car:Dash:Boston Acoustics S35 : http://www.crutchfield.com/p_0...html

Front Door: Infinity Kappa 50.9cs: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1....html|or|Polk Audio db5251: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1....html

Rear Deck:Infinity Kappa 693.9i: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1....html |or|Polk Audio db691: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1....html

Deck:Nothing fancy. I will just be using my MP3 player via the AUX in. Anyone have any suggestions @ $200~$300 range. I know I’d have to get either a Pioneer or Kenwood deck to keep the steering wheel functionality and using one of these: PAC SWI-JACK or PAC SWI-PS. What does PAC mean btw?

Amplifier: Nothing extreme, just something 4 or 6 channel @ 75~100W RMS. Lowest THD possible. @ $200~$300

Questions:Now before getting any of this I was wondering if anyone could tell me the following. I’ve search both sites, google etc and cannot find a clear answer. Most just turn up cars for sale.

1. What is the standard factory radio watts on my car? RMS wise.

2. Does my car have an amp in the stereo system or is it all ran off the head unit? I tried asking the radio install guys @ the BestBuy in Westbury but I wasn’t too confident in their answers. He said he thinks there’s gotta be an amp in this system somewhere. (if this is true has anyone taken any picture of the stock radio/amp on an 07 Altima and knows where it’s located?)

3. I know I have 6x9's in the rear and 6.5" and 3.5" in front door and dash but does anyone know if the two in the front are ran in 'component' mode? Meaning is the speaker wire that goes to say the Front Left Door speaker's +/- terminals, have wires coming off them and going to the front dash left speaker?

4. With the speakers I choose above, for the front door and dash, the front door sets are 'component' speakers (ie tweeter/separates) If I was going to use only a 4 channel amp could I power all 3 speakers on 1 line (FrontDoor w/its tweeter and then the 3.5” Dash)?[AMP] 1 Channel (FrontLeft)--> FDL+FDL_Tweeter-->Dash 3.5”

5. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where to mount/install the tweeters for the component/tweets/separates in the front? Any pics?

Again these are great sites for info but just needed to ask these questions as I couldn’t find the answers by searching. I also checked out the “FAQ - START HERE FIRST!!!:” Great guide and info in there. It answered a bunch of my other questions.

Thank you,Dan

I got ur email, I'm swamped with work at the moment... will give a good answer either later tonight or tomorrow.... I'm pretty much going to change up your entire system though... I don't like either speaker choice you gave, also, you will need amplifiers to power your new speakers correctly... will discuss in detail soon...oh yeah, and you will get much more help if you post future audio questions in the Altima general Audio/Video forum
