07 altima 2.5s - cd player not working

whenever i enter a cd into the cd player it just says reading... for about 1 minute then says read/focus error. check disk. i have tested it with over 20 cds including brand new cds out of the case. so why is my cd player all the sudden just not working?

How old is it?Do the other functions work (radio)?Does it spin the cd up?

if its an older one i would bet on a dirty lense/laser.

its an 07' altima. has under 14,000 miles. yes the radio works...i dont understand what you mean by spinning the cd up...it does spin the cd while repeating "reading..." on the screen.

my car is still under warranty. so i was contemplating taking it to the nissan dealer tomorrow to get a new radio. just wondering if there was a quick fix so i could avoid the dealer.
