Checked connectors under seat, all tight. Pass side features all work. If both seats on same circuit, cannot be the fuse. Manual doesn't list fuse chart. Online, have not found page that lists these functions. Called several dealers but no help.

Does anyone know whether these functions on both seats on same circuit, or if not, the location of the fuse for these functions on the driver's seat? All other driver sear function work.

Thanks.

You can find wiring diagrams on SE-30 and SE-119 here:
https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual ... 5%2Fse.pdf

The only thing I see that the Climate Controller and Lumbar share which the rest of the seat doesn't is the ground connection at pin 56 of the seat connector B14:B201.

I have checked a post with pertinent pages and diagrams from the shop manual.

There is an underseat control module, but I would think if it failed, no features would work.

There is a seat control temperature relay by the battery, but I would think if it failed, both sides would be affected.

VStar,

Thanks that's very helpful. Maybe a corrosion issue as we live close to the ocean.

You're most welcome. Underseat wiring can also get stress cracks in the portions which flex, and can sometimes even get pinched or cut by the frame. The quickest test for a bad ground is to hook a bulb type test lamp to 12V and then probe the suspect ground points from terminus back to source. With the gator connected to battery, if the ground is open the bulb won't light, if it's poor then you'll get a dim bulb. If Black doesn't light up at the lumbar switch, then see if it lights at the seat side of the seat connector. If it does then you know there's a break in Black. If it doesn't, check at the car side. If that lights then the connector pin is bad, if it doesn't then the problem is in the umbilical.

Reseated the connectors under the seat. Lumbar now working. LED in driver temp switch lit briefly then went out. Plan to tear apart the switch, clean contacts and see if if will work.

VS,

Thanks again for your input.

I disassembled the switch and saw no signs that it is the switch. Simple circuit with 5 surface mounted resistors. I may test their values to make sure there are in range. Wanted to try the switch on the pass side, but infiniti in its infinite wisdom designed a longer plug on the driver side so it cannot be mistakenly placed incorrectly. Foresight I guess, but did not help.

After the switch has been removed for a while and reconnected, the LED lights and stays lit on all switch position, then turn off. Thinking that it engages the relay then the relay malfunctions after a couple seconds. After the relay resets, the switch will work again. Will reseat that and see if it works.

The section from the manual on seats has been really helpful. Thanks again.

It's funny. I don't really usually the temp controls on the seat often, but with it being 18 years old and 230K miles, I think I am trying to reverse any little sign of my car's ultimate impending demise!

Looking at page 114 of the doc you sent me, it looks like the climate control seat relay is located at the top of the relay bank at the left bottom corner of the battery.

The manual is indicating the wrong relay. It is not in the bank in front of the battery, but to the far left of the battery on the pass front fender well. Two relays in the case. Seat Temp control Auto Cruise Control Brake relay.

Regardless, switching the relay with another known-to- be good one produced no difference. Relay is good. Next suspect in line if the seat control module under the seat.

When they light up briefly and then switch off, it usually means the fan is blocked or stalled and there isn't enough airflow to keep the Peltier elements happy (Nissan calls them TED's, Thermo Electric Devices). It's also possible you have a TED that's gone to open-circuit heaven or that the power connector to the controller has a melted ground connection. Those things are all pretty common failure points.

OK. Let's see what if anything I may accomplish with the new list of directions!

Thanks again.
